As promised, we are sharing one last video of the Xbox Series X version of F1 22 to show you how better it now runs thanks to Wednesday's update. It's obviously great news for those who don't own a VRR display, but clearly even the others will benefit from it somehow.

We must congratulate Codesmasters for addressing all the technical issues touching F1 22 so quickly. The patch which came out just after we put up our videos earlier this week fixed all the major issues we had with the Xbox Series X version. Tearing is gone and so are the frame drops we had noticed in gameplay sequences are a thing of the past. Even replays seem to have improved in terms of stability, though they remain at 30 fps. Kudos to the team as there is no nothing to hold back the fans who were considering a purchase today!

Aside from the technical issues we evoked in the previous news article dedicated to F1 22, it is a very solid F1 game offering excellent driving sensations with a great sense of speed. It is obviously tempting to be nitpicky about the shortcomings concerning the visuals (like the disappointing reflections and the choppy cutscenes), but image quality is very good on Xbox Series X and on a VRR display, it looks great in HDR as well as very smooth. Inside, you will find a lengthy gameplay videos showing a bunch of different things in the game. Enjoy!

Until the long gameplay video we are currently encoding is ready, we thought you might care for a FPS Analysis video of F1 22 in its Xbox Series X version. As you'll see, cutscenes and replays are running at 30 fps with a few drops here and there, and gameplay is targeting 60, though it cannot maintain a perfectly steady framerate. Those problems become invisible to the naked eye when you play on a VRR display, but you should be aware of them if you don't. Moreover, tearing issues are pretty important without VRR, which can be very distracting during races or time trial events.
Note: An update was released after we recorded the footage. We don't know what it is supposed to address but we hope it fixes some of the aforementioned issues.

F1 22 will be released at the end of this week so it is no surprise to be given the launch trailer of the game today. We should have HQ gameplay videos when the game becomes available, but don't expect us to review it, it'll be too short.

Codemasters and Electronic Arts revealed F1 22 with an announce trailer and some screenshots. The game will release July 1, 2022, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via the EA App, Origin, Steam, and Epic Store.
