The release of Final Fantasy XVI is getting closer so it is no wonder to see a new (very short) trailer pop out today. This time, it insists on the benefit of the PlayStation 5 hardware, though we hope the performance mode of the final version will be more convincing than the one of the demo. We don't mind playing at 30 fps in quality mode but it'd be nice to have a tougher choice to make between the two. This new video also promotes the upcoming bundle which will include both the console and the game.

The Final Fantasy XVI demo which had been promised to PlaySation 5 owners came out yesterday and we recorded a few clips from it to share them with you. We opted for the Quality as it is a lot steadier than the Performance mode, which requires some more work. We did notice a few slowdowns in Quality mode too mind you, but it was rare and mostly happened during the last explosive segment of the demo. Though visible, they didn't distract us from the lighting show that was going on so if it stays this way in the final game, we should be ok.

New State of Play today at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 11pm CEST with a 20 minute gameplay presentation for Final Fantasy XVI. As a reminder, the game will be available on June 22nd exclusively on PlayStation 5.

Square Enix announced today the release of the latest trailer for Final Fantasy XVI. The trailer, named “AMBITION”, gives players a more in-depth look at Final Fantasy XVI’s backstory, including the realm of Valisthea and its rich cast of characters they will encounter in the game, including Dominants – single men and women who are blessed with the ability to call upon a dread power, which is unlike anything ever seen in the series.

Today, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XVI for PlayStation 5 will be released globally summer 2023. Alongside this announcement, the latest trailer for the game, entitled “Dominance”, as well as environmental screenshots have been released.

Yesterday, Sony announced the launch date of both PlayStation 5 models. With a price set at $399 for the Digital Edition and $499 for the standard version that includes a 4K Blu Ray disc drive, the consoles will launch In North America, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea on November 12th and in most of other territories including Europe on November 19th. The first-party games available at launch are: Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, Sackboy A Big Adventure, Destruction AllStars and Astro’s Playroom (pre-installed).
