GSY Video Xbox One

Microsoft just gave players around the world a new reason to be interested in the purchase of a band new Xbox One X, by releasing a 4K patch for Red Dead Redemption, which can now be enjoyed to the fullest on current television sets. This new update is yet another proof that an official remaster of the game is never going to happen, something which was very unlikely anyway. The good news is that the Xbox One X patch improves image quality tremendously, as proven by a first gameplay video inside, which should soon be followed by a second when it's done encoding.
Update: Second video added.

GSY Video Xbox One

Red Dead Redemption may not have been updated for Xbox One X, but some people still asked us to record some footage on Microsoft's new console. The result is unsurprisingly similar to what can be seen on the base Xbox One, with probably better texture filtering. The game would clearly benefit by having the same 4K patch applied than Halo 3, Oblivion or Fallout 3, but nothing has been announced yet. One might also think that Rockstar would be interested in making a 4K remaster of their iconic title, but for some (odd) reason, L.A Noire comes first.

GSY Tech Xbox One

We have all been waiting for Red Dead Redemption's backward compatibility and it's finally here! You can now play John Marston's adventure on Xbox One and we have prepared a first GSY Tech video to compare both versions (the original on Xbox 360 and the emulated one on Microsoft's current hardware). We'll have more as soon as possible, but in the meantime, enjoy!
Note: The 0 fps drops in the first video are due to the appearance of the different writings the plugin misinterprets.
Update 2: Added a fourth video.

First 10 minutes Xbox 360 PS3

Halloween is upon us and John Marston is about to live a real nightmare in Rockstar's latest downloadable content for Red Dead Redemption. In Undead Nightmare, which is an independent chapter from the main story, Marston will indeed have to face hungry zombies and other mythical creatures too. Expect a lot of second degree here obviously (the beginning of the game actually reminds a bit of Braindead), it is safe to say that this additional content really is worth the 800 Microsoft Points ($10) necessary to get it. As the game has gotten a little more challenging as well, since you must apply the "Headshot's the only true stopper" technique in order to gun down zombies once and for all, those who play the game in manual mode should be pleased to prove their worth. Here is the first 10 minutes of the adventure a second part will also be added shortly.
Update: Second video is up, with a little more action!

Trailer Xbox 360 PS3

Rockstar just sent us the first trailer of Red Dead Redemption's next DLC, Undead Nightmare. If no release date has been announced yet, we know that it will cost you $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points to discover this new "chapter" of Marston's life.

Press release Xbox 360 PS3

Red Dead Redemption keeps getting some new content regularly and you all know that. You might also remember that, when all the upcoming packs were first announced, one of them was mentioning zombies. Well, you know what? It will actually be the next DLC to come and you can see the very first images inside, and read the press release to know more about what it has to offer. To be honest, we are a bit curious to see why they have decided to bring the undead into the Wild West equation. It is maybe a long shot, but it might just be the best RDR DLC released so far. After all, it's a nightmare, so maybe there is a logical explanation to all this.
Update: Trailer added.

Images Xbox 360 PS3

Rockstar released a batch of new images of Red Dead Redemption's upcoming DLC. On September 21, you will be able to play poker online with your friends, take part in horse races, try out a new multiplayer mode (attack/defence) or discover new hunting grounds. More will be included of course, and you will find the details at this adress. As you know, all the team at Gamersyde really loved the game when it shipped, but we can't help but wonder why they keep releasing such dispensable content. Disappointing to say the least, but who knows, maybe one day we will see something that measures up to GTA IV's DLC episodes. So, what about you? Are you ready to pay 800 MS points or $9.99?
