GSY Review PS5 Xbox Series X PC PS4 Xbox One Switch

The Knight Witch is a truly gorgeous game which manages to mix several genres pretty effectively as it is a deckbuilding-lite game, a Metroidvania game and a shoot 'em up. The only problem is that the difficulty peaks can be very frustrating, even more so considering the absence of difficulty settings. The ambushes, which are sequences when you have to beat several waves of enemies, are way too many and toward the end, they get very difficult, with tough adversaries capable of shooting through walls and of redefining the expression bullet hell... Though almost all bosses are not that hard once you've learned the different patterns, we wonder if the last boss can actually be beaten without activating the cheat codes. Maybe it's us, but we truly believe the game needs some balancing adjustments to be fully enjoyable by all, and not just hardcore players. It took us between 15 and 20 hours to beat the game, but we reckon that without the cheat codes, we wouldn't have gotten past a bunch of sequences in the last third of the aventure, including the final boss. If you feel you're up to the challenge, feel free ti try the Steam demo, but don't forget that things get much trickier as you progress into the game.
Note: The game will be available on Steam, Gog and Nintendo Switch tomorrow but the other versions (Playstation, Xbox and Windows 10) have been slightly delayed to this Friday due to an annoying bug which can happen on these systems only.
