Video PC PS4 Xbox One

To complete our coverage of White Night after all Driftwood's videos, here is the beginning of the adventure on Xbox One. As always, we're grateful to the Xbox network for the download code of this One version.

First 10 minutes PC PS4 Xbox One

If you're more into action games, White Night is probably not for you then. With its excellent sound design and very original art style, OSome's first title is very atmospheric and immersive. That being said, it is also quite a departure from the usual fast paced structure of today's games. You'll potentially spend a lot of time looking for the next clue to move forward, which isn't always easy in a black and white environment. Reading is also part of the package deal, as you'll find a good number of documents helping you understand the full story behind the game. Obviously, we haven't had time to play much, so these thoughts are merely based on the very beginning, but considering we felt a bit lost trying to figure out what to do next, we believe it will be the same for you. Let's just hope there won't be too many instances during which players will lose time looking for the interactive object they've missed for the past 20 minutes, or else it might be too much to take for them. Not everyone is convinced yet in the team, but the game has its charms nonetheless and we intend to keep playing.

Trailer PC PS4 Xbox One

The intriguing White Night should be released in a bit on PC and Xbox One and here are a few screenshots of the game. We haven't found the launch trailer in good quality so it'll have to do for now. As for gameplay videos, we haven't received any review code yet, so we'll probably buy it ourselves. Should it be released soon enough, we might even consider livestreaming the game this evening. If it happens though, it will be completely improvised and you'll know at the very last moment. Stay tuned if you're interested.
Update: Launch trailer and live-action trailer added.

Some projects are more appealing than others and White Night undoubtedly belongs to those we can't wait to try ourselves. French developer OSome Studio just announced that their first title will be available on March 3 on Steam and PS4, and March 6 on Xbox One. We can hope hope this descendant of the original Alone in the Dark will manage to hold up to its promises.

Trailer PC

We told you about White Night two days ago but since OSome was kind enough to send us the HQ version of their trailer, here it is back on Gamersyde's homepage. The game is planned for PC and Mac but the developers are currently discussing about a potential console version later on.

We failed to talk about a survival horror game developed by ex-employees at Eden Games. After working on Alone in the Dark (and the abandoned project of the remake of the first episode in the series), they decided to create their own studio and work on quite an original title, at least art style-wise. We don't have much to show you guys apart from a bunch of images and (old) videos, but it's probably worth keeping a close eye on this one.

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I've heard that motion rigs in VR reduce the sensation and trick your body into feeling the g forces in driving games. Having some kind of haptics on the hmd could do the same for standing games (14 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite What you say about the correlation between what you see and what you feel is true, though. If you read the patent, Sony are working on something similar, but on the actual headset itself (14 Hours ago)
