After its arrival last August on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, Echoes of the End has just received a significant update and is now Echoes of the End: Enhanced Edition, featuring reworked animations, a combat overhaul, a new equipment system, a new difficulty level and a New Game+. As every year, The Game Awards offers us the chance to watch a lot of trailers for upcoming games. It's an opportunity to see Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem, but also to discover Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic and Gang of Dragon, among others.

Not only did Kunos Simulazion release Assetto Corsa EVO in early access a few months ago, the team is also developing Assetto Corsa Rally, also in early access on PC. As this end of week is all about car racing games on Gamersyde, we have another video for you to check out The following gameplay footage was once again recorded via GeForce NOW Ultimate, NVIDIA's streaming service.

Assetto Corsa EVO is getting a major update for its early access today, with new vehicles and tracks, among other things. On the car side, we're getting the Ferrari F40 LM, the Ferrari SF-25 (a modern F1 car), the BMW M3 (E46) CSL, the BMW M8 Competition Coupe (F92), the Ferrari Daytona SP3, two variants of the Mini John Cooper S (Mk VI), the Peugeot 205 T16, two variants of the Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 RS, the Renault 5 GT Turbo, and two variants of the Toyota Supra Turbo RZ (Mk IV). As for new tracks, you can now also race at Monza, Road Atlanta, the Nürburgring (the Nordschleife is included in the package, much to our delight) and Oulton Park Circuit. The physics engine and performance have been improved, as have the sounds and visuals, making this early access much more interesting than it was a few months ago. We'll leave you with our gameplay video recorded via GeForce NOW Ultimate with a controller (note that the handling with the gamepad remains very tricky without the aids, so they are all activated here, including for steering).

Developed by XiaMing Game and published by GlintForge, Retrace the Light has been available on PC for a few days now, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are currently in development. You play a warrior known as Decem, and you can bend the rules of spacetime with the Retrace ability, enabling instant teleportation along the trail left in Decem’s wake. Here is a gameplay video showing the first 20 minutes of the game.

After an apology from the dev team and several updates since its official release, Project Motor Racing is still not performing well on the various platforms it has been released on, particularly Xbox Series X. Framerate is clearly not smooth enough for a racing game, even less so when you consider the rather mediocre graphics, and AI issues are still present tofay (although things have improved,it's not a big surprise that AI should be so weak after Project CARS 2). These are the first two problems that stand out when launching the game, which is a shame because the handling is pretty good overall with a controller (a welcome change after PCARS 2) and the engine sounds are mostly quite good. The game was clearly released too early, and rather than issuing a letter of apology after it came out, the studio should perhaps have been more transparent before letting players put their money down. Yes, we know, that's not how the industry works...

After Star Wars Outlaws, iAssassin's Creed Shadows is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2, albeit with a number of graphical and technical concessions compared to other versions of the game. For starters, ray tracing has been replaced by older rasterization-based methods, and this is quite noticeable in every lighting conditions. Secondly, SSR-based reflections have been drastically limited on large liquid surfaces, which you can see in our video. Other changes have of course been necessary, including modifications to vegetation and NPC density, shadows, LOD and the resolution itself, among other things. In docked mode, the rendering is inevitably less clean and pleasing to the eye on a large screen, but the world of Shadows remains very detailed nonetheless. The framerate didn't seem flawless to us in this configuration, even though the game is perfectly playable (note, however, that we didn't have the opportunity to try out battles against multiple enemies). In portable mode, other sacrifices were necessary, but they work quite well on the machine's smaller screen, especially since the frame rate seems a little smoother. On the other hand, image quality is significantly degraded, with a rather soft rendering. Overall, Outlaws impressed us more, but keep in mind that Shadows offers a much larger open world that is generally more detailed.

It took a year for Silent Hill 2 to arrive on Xbox Series X|S but it was well worth the wait, especially for those who have never played the original game, which was released back in 2001. The Xbox port seems solid overall, with boost in performance in Performance mode it seems, though maximum internal resolution might be lower than on base PS5. As you will see in our gameplay video of the Xbox Series X version, the game looks good, and despite a few hiccups in terms of framerate in Performance mode (without VRR at least), it plays well too.
