I hope first Mafia is as improved as they say. Watched some videos from mafia 2 and sheesh, that's a lazy remaster with tons of issues (fps drops, horrible sound etc).

I've played the whole trilogy - including DLCs - and Mafia 1's remake is the only interesting one for me. Mafia 2's can hardly be called a remaster since I can't see any actual improvements, but then I played the original at launch almost 10 years ago, however reading the reviews on Steam, there's only a few things they improved, while removing some other stuff - like clothing physics, for whatever reason.

I wish they had taken the time to remake Mafia 2 as well, it's a great game that certainly deserves that kind of treatment. As for Mafia 3, since it was handled by the original developers, Hangar 13, they could have tweaked the game's design to decrease the repetitiveness of tasks to control regions, side quests and collectibles. Nothing major, just tweak so that instead of taking over 5 places, you only do 2-3, basically things to improve the pace of the game. Other small quality of life changes wouldn't hurt either.

Either way, both Mafia 2 and 3 remaster and definitive edition, respectively, leave a lot to be desired. I still hope Mafia 1's Remake is actually great, as that's my favorite one and has a story that is even better than any of The Godfather movies - which I thought I was the only one who thought this, but got very pleasantly surprised to see other people who think the same after the remasters were announced. Only a few months left to find out, however graphically the game looks great and reminds me a lot of those early fan art Mafia 3 concept art images that were doing the rounds back in the day.

Mafia II ''Definitive Edition'' is really rough on PS4. Feels like it's running with 20-25 fps most of the time and audio is a mess. Free is free yeah, but i doubt i'll finish this version. Running worse than Xbox 360 version back in the day. It's bad.
