Before Saints Row The Third Remastered and Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, 2K released another remaster in the form of the Mafia: Trilogy. While the first game is actually not available yet as it will be a full remake (which makes sense considering its old age), Mafia II Definitive Edition and Mafia III Definitive Edition have been for almost 2 weeks now. The latter hasn't been given the remaster treatment (worse, it's even removed the Pro and X enhancements which had been added to the original release - but it should be fixed soon) but we still recorded some gameplay bits from the PC version in 1800p as it felt nice to finally be able to play the game smoothly. Mafia II on the other hand has been improved visually, with more detailed textures, better lighting effects and higher resolutions on consoles. It doesn't mean it's a solid remaster in every aspect as all console versions still struggle with the framerate at some point or another, which is a shame for a 10-year-old game. Oddly enough, the PS4 Pro version in the worst of the bunch, with interiors that witness massive drops in the low 20s. You won't be surprised to know that, though not perfect, the Xbox One X version is the one to go for if you own the 2 systems.
