Trailer PS4 Xbox One

It's not really a surprise anymore, but the remaster of Assassin's Creed: Rogue has been announced for PS4 and Xbox One, with the higher end versions of these consoles getting the full 4K treatment of course. Assassin's Creed: Rogue is pretty much Assassin's Creed 4.5, not that it's a bad thing!

I knew this was going to come to current consoles eventually. Ubisoft wouldn't let it die with PS3 and X360, plus after Assassin's Creed: Origins' critical and commercial success, Ubisoft figured this was the right time.

This Remastered version will also come to PC. Though Ubisoft hasn't said if PC owners of the original will get a free update or at least a discount.

Assassin's Creed: Rogue is a great game, kinda like a spiritual successor to Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag - 4.5 or Black Flag 2. AC: Rogue got overlooked because AC: Unity was so bad at launch and overall wasn't a great game.

But AC: Rogue is worth playing, the story is great and it shows better than anything else in the series that the line between "good" and "evil" when it comes to the Templars and Assassins is very thin. I really liked the reasons why Shay Cormac changed sides, reminds me of one of The Witcher's Geralt's quotes:

"Evil is evil, lesser, greater, middling - makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary, the definition blurred. If I'm to choose between one evil and another, I'd rather not choose at all."

The Assassins aren't always "in the right". Just as the Templars aren't always "in the wrong". Really great game! Shame the Nintendo Switch isn't getting a version, collecting all the chests and items would be much more digestable on the go while you're doing other stuff, riding the bus or waiting in line.

PS. Any chance you guys could get the "Dark Souls Remastered" trailer as well?

This wasn't overlooked for me because of Unity. It gave them plenty of time to release fixes for Unity. I checked the game out in early 2015 after the last update was released.
At its current state, it is still utter garbage and its a shame, but the remnants of this broken game engine can still be seen in the latest version of Syndicate too.

This was a great game and I will happily play it again when it is very cheap and if it gets the same care as ACIV did over its last gen counterparts like with better ocean effects that can be seen at further distances.

Kind of disagree with the story though. Would it have killed Shay to try to talk to his old comrades before murdering them all? Hmm, maybe it would have killed him had he approached wearing Templar colours lol.
I think it would have been better if Shay was betrayed by the Templars in the end because in other games that is very clearly what they do to each other all the time. It has never really been shown how the Templars aren't evil in the series, I mean ever.

jmd749 @nostradamus: Yes, Talos Principle is one of those overlooked gems of a game. For my 2nd play through I started it in VR using my Oculus, havn't got very far. I'd highly recommend it to any puzzle fan (7 Hours ago)

nostradamus some pacing and life. I don't mind the puzzle zones trigger some quiet time, all fine and dandy, but the awfull back and forth in the whole island withou a melodic sound? even crafted in the game or (8 Hours ago)

nostradamus first thing i did for the "no music" The Witness was give a middle finger to Blow, and use MP3 or youtube to stream so classic composers, and give the dull game world (every one is dead how original) (8 Hours ago)

  • nostradamus

nostradamus and its funny as hell how thsi game has some organ/gregorian chorus (picks up in the key moments) for the soundtrack. it's sublime (these are the dudes who made sesious sam?! L.o.l.) (8 Hours ago)

nostradamus the dev's walking sim "now you get it" to appreciate a good puzzle. Still love The Witness, but i like direct simplicity more. (8 Hours ago)

nostradamus it even has the whole Tetronimo thingy going on. its way more barebones (mixture of its own game or a mod even) but its a breath of fresh air to take a puzzle game that doesn't make you suffer through (8 Hours ago)
