not bad. I cant imagine the console versions being that far off..lower res and framerate sure, but not seen anything that looks impossible.

I think Crysis 2 has proven that cutting edge graphics are possible on consoles - with sacrifices/compromises of course. This is a whole new kettle of fish, sure, but I agree with bleachedsmiles in that I don't think the console counterpart(s) will be that far off.

I hope that Crytek still have something in store for PC gamers as they seem to have much higher expectations regarding UI, MP and graphics.
I wouldn't say that Crysis 2 looks bad at all but BF3 easily steals the attention regarding visual fidelity.

It's weird how some quicktime events feel really intense and how some are just boring. Unfortunately was this one of the boring ones.

Im loving that static theme music. It fits so well. I also really want to play this singleplayer map in multiplayer... And and... That ground shockwave. I'm hoping its not a scripted/trigger event which it looked to be. I could just imagine laying prone and a jetfighter drops a bomb 25 meters in front, only to watch the ground ripple my way. I would let it roll onto me and snuggle me with it's warm love. <3

I wish they kept the Bad Company 2 animations, was great IMO.
Had that weighty and more realistic feel to it, this one is more stale, reminds me of Medal of Honor SP.

Crysis might have better lighting (and probably water too) but this one feels more real, more alive. There's so much going on everywhere, the detail in the outdoors is unbelivable, the psyhiscs are awesome and the animations are the best in a FPS to date. Overall, I'd give this one the nod if it manages to keep this level of fidelity often enough.

I'm getting my second 5870 in 7 days so I'll be prepared for this beast.

Look's great but one thing bothers me. The Frostbite 2.0 was suppose to give us realistic behaviour when explosion is set near our person. So i'm asking why when an RPG hit the fence our little soldier boy wasn't put down on the ground...

I hope it's just a matter of early version and they will implement it correctly.

Crysis has great graphics but it's very sterille in my opinion. There should be much more detail on the shelves, tables ant other things. The city just don't look like it was evacuated in a hurry. And yes - Crysis 2 has this console feeling which might be a little stingy to the PC players. I'm ok with it but the game could be better on PC if it wasn't written for PC and consoles simultanously.

And that scene when we fight witch a bad guy with bare hands and knees :) Outstanding. I wan't more thist type, scripted yet veeery good lokkin fight scenes.

Their implementation of global illumination is nothing short of groundbreaking. I'm sorta shocked that people can look at this and say, "looks alright."

You said "No" at the "Might" or "No" as in it doesn't have better lighting?

How is their GI groundbreaking? Are you saying it's not fake GI anymore, like every other in-game implementation I know of?

I think we are talking about just ambient occlusion here, at least more so than real GI with light actually bouncing around and shit.

No, we're talking real-time radiosity, as demoed at siggraph last year and as included in this game.

Not that the implementation of GI in Cryengine 3 isn't also very cool.

Ok, was confused there.

Though nothing in the lighting in this video impressed me the way Crysis 2 GI did, but that might be because of the generic art though.

Yea I agree with this...I haven't played or seen Crysis 2 on console but on PC it is one of the most optimized games ever released. And this tech...Frostbite was born on consoles first so I fully expect Battlefield 2 to perform well on consoles
