Electronic Arts & DICE have released first trailer for their upcoming First Person Shooter, Battlefield 3. It shows...nothing.
Release: fall 2011 (PC, Xbox 360, PS3).
Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

I hope I am wrong, but from that image it doesnt seem that its futiristic, too bad they didnt continue with it.
I've been waiting for this game for five years. This is definitely not too early.
Also--goofy side of BF3? What do you mean?
not interested in this myself tho. dice consistantly prove that they're incapable to making a really decent single player and without that i can't get excited. i guess if you live and breath multiplayer you'd be looking forward to it. but i aim that guy. there are quite a few more FPS's i'm interested in this year anyway....
With sci fi you get unique environment, art designs, weapons...etc. its something new and fresh, some play differently (Crysis, Bulletstorm, Vanquish...etc).
But its all good.

The fact that this video is a bit of a joke doesn't concern me at all. I'll save that for when I actually see the game in a few weeks.
Gameplay being great, sure, but how can I play a game when I have to look at it and I cant stand the look of it, thats just me.
BF3 may crush the competition and be loved by BF2 veterans but not everyone likes modern military games, ever thought of that, especially these days with so many modern shooters such as MoH, CoD, BF, Homefront, Operation Flashpoint...etc. be it good or bad.
If someone for example posted a Operation Flashpoint image with Battlefield 3 title on it I would seriously think that was BF3, no identity to tell them apart because its all modern.
Though I do understand some like the modern military shooters because thats what they are into, but I for one hoped BF3 could continue with that 2142.
However from that small image, it seems its modern.
But like I said, thats just my opinion.
PS. My sister seems to like them though, she likes Medal of Honor but hated BFC2 because of how big it was and she doesnt like to control vehicles.
Who knows, maybe she will buy this one :P
Looking forward to this though. Hopefully it'll bring us back to what FPS multiplayers should be about.
Grift is right. This could very well be the defining mp experience. Something that truly advances the genre.
Battlefield 2 had a lot of balance issues though, overpowered jets & helis standing out the most! And I really hope they don't use punkbuter as the main anti cheat device!
Killzone = Infantry based, 24 players max, no vehicles, small maps, no real coordination
Mainline Battlefield series = Vehicle (Jets, boats, land vehicles) & Infantry based, 64 players max, giant maps, maximum coordination, destruction
Two very different types of games..
Bring on BF3!!!...
The UAV can easily take out anti air as well before a chopper can even reach the base.
The game sorely misses the anti air from 1943 which could only be taken out by ground troops and tanks. They had limited range but they made it so air vehicles feared certain areas. In that game however you had to do passes and couldn't circle strafe. They still need to balance the circle strafe in my opinion.
PC is probably different since there are more veteran players however. I don't know that for sure though.
