It's great how you can barely see difference between cg and in-game. (as good as Lost Odyssee, superb)

Why do they show only cutscene images and no gameplay images?

there are some in-game screens in there. the first one is. there's another two on the site that blim blim didn't post that are also in-game. just look for the lack of anti-aliasing.

i think the cut-scenes are done with the in-game models, but are just done as movies to prevent loading scenes for the extra animations and such. i think it's gonna be difficult to notice the difference.

Umm.. the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th pictures are in-game. (if you want to see in-game stuff, go look in the news archive, there's plenty of video there)

Most if not all of the cutscenes in the trailer are CG.

Both these images are CG cutscenes.
But yes, it's pretty close. These are realtime:

Honestly, I know some of you have a hard on for this game...and jrpgs in general, but is really draining that much blood from your head that you would honestly think the cg cutscenes are ingame? Not that it's particularly complex or anything and *couldn't* be done, but it's so obvious that there's a difference.

It's great to see that this game has found its graphical muse. I had my doubts about the cutesy style for a time, but it's beginning to charm me when I see it more and more. Maybe it's just because I'm growing tired of the "realistic" anime style that seems to be the fashion these days in AAA Japanese titles.

I think that if this game can keep focus and end up as a sharp example of traditional Japanese RPG's, then Microsoft will have a good global seller.

Also, I cannot remember for sure, but I recall Sakaguchi mentioning that subtitles will be an option in the western localized versions of the game.

Also--is that the same soco as the one I see in Evil Avatar? Belated welcome! (I'm fatefodder in EA)

If those aren't all in-game, then that is some terrible CG.
