While it looks nice, it's hard to shake the feeling that it  just looks like a bunch of combat ideas and assets that were left on the cutting room floor while making quantum break. Stylistically if you told me this was a sequel to that game I wouldn't question you. The fact quantum break wasn't very good doesn't help matters either.

criticizing a game that scored better than days gone and the Order...
I was pretty satisfied with my story choices in QB. though I would preferred the live action parts to be In-game, or at the very least in-engine. that's probably where this game enters.

---------------
The ascetics on some of the screens look a bit simpler. hopefully that also means it will run better on my setup. QB was a mayhem of special effects. some of the most intense actuality. Act 4 was pretty epic.

5th screen shot has a close resemblance to Beth Wilder. looks like a spin-off of sorts. i'll be keeping tabs on this new IP.

the game was actually pretty good. couldn't agree more though about the live action being done in-game instead.

Jesus, insecure much? haha

you can defend a product without having to bring in competing products you know. i never once mentioned any other game besides the one at hand...so how does the order reviewing worse than quantum break make quantum break any less shit?

Doesn't look like something that could top RE2 for my current goty, but i'll keep an eye on this game after heard they go metroidvania style world this time with side missions etc. One thing i gotta say is, last Remedy games that i loved were Max Payne 1 & 2. Everything since then was average to ok at best.

ah btw this game also reminds me a little to Psi-ops from PS2 era, i guess another reason why i have some interest.

i hope they utilize the same photorealism tech they used for the long cut scenes in quantum break. that stuff was literally flawless.

I agree with KORNdog on this one. that's not a very logical comparison

however I agree with you on the cutscenes, they were supposed to be innovative while in reality, they ruined the immersion.
also I think you mean 'aesthetic'.. :D

jmd749 @nostradamus: Yes, Talos Principle is one of those overlooked gems of a game. For my 2nd play through I started it in VR using my Oculus, havn't got very far. I'd highly recommend it to any puzzle fan (13 Hours ago)

nostradamus some pacing and life. I don't mind the puzzle zones trigger some quiet time, all fine and dandy, but the awfull back and forth in the whole island withou a melodic sound? even crafted in the game or (14 Hours ago)

nostradamus first thing i did for the "no music" The Witness was give a middle finger to Blow, and use MP3 or youtube to stream so classic composers, and give the dull game world (every one is dead how original) (14 Hours ago)

  • nostradamus

nostradamus and its funny as hell how thsi game has some organ/gregorian chorus (picks up in the key moments) for the soundtrack. it's sublime (these are the dudes who made sesious sam?! L.o.l.) (14 Hours ago)

nostradamus it even has the whole Tetronimo thingy going on. its way more barebones (mixture of its own game or a mod even) but its a breath of fresh air to take a puzzle game that doesn't make you suffer through (14 Hours ago)
