Remedy will demo a new mission of Control during E3, before that happens, the developer has shared a dozen screenshots that depict new characters and mystery-filled environments. The game is set to launch August 27.
While it looks nice, it's hard to shake the feeling that it just looks like a bunch of combat ideas and assets that were left on the cutting room floor while making quantum break. Stylistically if you told me this was a sequel to that game I wouldn't question you. The fact quantum break wasn't very good doesn't help matters either.
criticizing a game that scored better than days gone and the Order...
I was pretty satisfied with my story choices in QB. though I would preferred the live action parts to be In-game, or at the very least in-engine. that's probably where this game enters.
---------------
The ascetics on some of the screens look a bit simpler. hopefully that also means it will run better on my setup. QB was a mayhem of special effects. some of the most intense actuality. Act 4 was pretty epic. https://youtu.be/ZxfCY_VFjxM?t=405
5th screen shot has a close resemblance to Beth Wilder. looks like a spin-off of sorts. i'll be keeping tabs on this new IP.
you can defend a product without having to bring in competing products you know. i never once mentioned any other game besides the one at hand...so how does the order reviewing worse than quantum break make quantum break any less shit?
Doesn't look like something that could top RE2 for my current goty, but i'll keep an eye on this game after heard they go metroidvania style world this time with side missions etc. One thing i gotta say is, last Remedy games that i loved were Max Payne 1 & 2. Everything since then was average to ok at best.
ah btw this game also reminds me a little to Psi-ops from PS2 era, i guess another reason why i have some interest.

I agree with KORNdog on this one. that's not a very logical comparison
however I agree with you on the cutscenes, they were supposed to be innovative while in reality, they ruined the immersion.
also I think you mean 'aesthetic'.. :D
