For a game centered so much on characters, their character rendering tech is really weak. How about some self-shadowing and self-ambient-occluding, proper physics (hair not clipping into the body)?
Fighting game devs are super lazy now days. They could easily bump up every aspect of these games qhite a bit higher and still get a solid 60fps. They just keep reusing assets, animations and gameplay. I got tired of it ten years ago.

it has self shadowing.
but i get what you mean, it looks super flat. characters look like plastic. but DOA has hardly been known for pushing visuals at the best of times, so i'm not super bothered by it. soul calibur however...that i have issues with.
It at least looks like they're trying to change things in small ways. The addition of blood is kinda odd, that and the addition of slow mo hits feels kinda Mortal Kombat.
But yeah it's sorta disappointing that both DOA and SoCal have been asleep for a while and come back looking virtually unchanged.

the graphics could be better..
The diference between DoA 4 to DoA 5 is great but here..
DoA 6 don't seems to be a lot better than 5.. :/
And i really hope they bring us the "Boob physics"..
And the girls, in a good costume too
Dead or Alive could have character customization, just like Soulcalibur..
