That's $500 with a 20GB HDD and no wifi and no HDMI; $600 if you want the full-featured PS3. Geez, that is pricey. And with $60 games, I have to wonder if the game industry is indeed headed for a crash.
Hey, Blim (and co), when can we expect you guys to host the full video of the press conference. It would be nice to have that. Likewise with the Microsoft press conference on over at Xboxyde. And even though I know you guys don't care to have a Nintendo site, if we be really nice, is there a chance you host the Nintendo press conference - just for E3's sake?

Who cares if it's 600 dollars? Just fork it out...it's a short-term investment in a long-term console--it's features rapes the competition and it just hands down has the best content. What else could you offer for $600.00. For a $100.00 more than a low-end hddvd player, I could have a full featured PS3 media hub.
Guaranteed all 2 million launch consoles will be preordered and bought out in less than a weekend in every launch territory.
500 to 600 dollars just isn't that bad...especially after seeing games like Heavenly Sword, 8 days, MGS4, the naughty dog game, tekken 6, virtua fighter 5, Final Fantasy XIII, etc. Launching a system today at $600 dollars is like launching a console in 2000 at $400...pretty expensive but doable.
Heavenly Sword certainly looks impressive. I'm curious to hear reports back of hands on impressions though 'cause neither Gran Turismo or Heavenly Sword seemed like they were actually being played onscreen. It reminded me of the Bill Gates vs Ballmer Fight Night R3 match. Pre-recorded stuff.
Speaking of Gran Turismo. Did anyone else hear that GT HD was running in 1080 progressive?!
these games look ok in motion. But Sonys e3 conference was well a let down. For one its gonna be £409 here in the uk I imagine they will round it to £450 with VAT and tax. Now by then the 360 will be wot? 200? 250? £200 quid extra? PS3 is not 200 pounds above the 360 IMO. The controller is the exact ps2 controller with a few gimmicks. I hated that controller it felt awful, its too small and it gave me hand cramps. I think sony have blew it big time, the price does not match the console. It needs to be cheaper. Imagine this sony show a heavenly sword trailer on TV it looks pretty good yes. Next day MS show gears of war the guy watchen em is thinking wow they both look great. He goes into the store the next day, he says ps3 + heavenly sword £500 or Xbox 360 + Gears of war £250. Which is he gonna pick up? (unless hes a fanboy of course)

Yea it really does, i hope the ingame animations will really be as good as in this trailer. So far this is my favourite game i have seen at E3 for PS3. HS looka also fantastic, but im schocked about MGs4 textures, they look very bad, but the rest is awesome.
Hey Guys, i just wanted to say, im not really impressed by Heavenly Sword, F1 and Motorstorm, but Final Fantasy XIII just blows me away. Damn, it looks so incredible!! The only question is: are these FF XIII Screens released Real Time or not?!
You can see an HUD in there, but they still look like a pre rendered Concept.
Just to good to be true.
