GSY Video PS4 Xbox One

While our PS4 Pro footage of Red Dead Redemption 2 should arrive shortly, we have a bit more Xbox One X gameplay to offer. Inside, you will find a bunch of videos showing some of the secondary missions and a little stroll during which we ran into a certain klan. Enjoy the 4K content and happy Halloween to you all!
Update: One last XB1X video added, focusing this time on the beautiful landscapes of RDR2.

This cougar shit got me pumped to the end, this is why: narrative. characters. this takes a huge dump on shit like horizon, Assassin's creed. and hey, those are pretty decent games to begin with, story wise.

Open-world and multi-platform. When it comes to technical achievements and attention to detail, Rockstar is on a league of its own - more like Godstar.

Basically, yeah.

Though you still need to implement the main thing and that's game design. That comes down to decision making and ideas.

There's been a couple of absolutely fantastic game design elements that I've seen so far in this game that are so refreshing, that I wonder why they haven't been done before in an open world game when they are so bloody obvious. Chiefly the lack of "rails" or any kind of forced direction when it's not needed. For example, I was collecting a debt and trotted into a property looking for someone I needed to get the debt from. It doesn't point out where he is on the radar, you just have to search for him. So I kick his front door open, search his house and whatnot, call his name. I accidently shot my pistol, and then walked around the side of the house. I spot someone legging it into the trees, but because the game isn't alerting me, or telling me via big fucking arrows, or the game taking control of the camera and panning in on him, I don't know or realise that the gunshot alerted him to my presence, and he's making a run for it because of that. I just assumed it was the guy, so I went looking, but he was gone. So, I went to loot the house, and then I hear the rumble of horses enter the farm. Turns out my suspicion was right and the fucker had run off and altered the law to me being there. I'd a bounty, so I had to leg it. The game is so well designed, that it just lets things like that unfold dynamically.

Now, as much as I enjoy coming to gamersyde to hear Korndog criticized games he has never played or has any intrest in playing I would like to hear your guys opinion on this one.

Im surprised at the lack of coverage compared to some other games like The Crew 2 and Tomb Raider.

Lack of coverage, are you kidding me?

We have posted no less than 20 videos of RDR2 on Xbox One X and some more are coming on PS4 Pro in the days to come. For the record "only" 15 videos of Shadow of the TR were posted (and we were sent the game way before its release, so we had time to get ready and do things properly, while the code we were sent for RDR2 initially didn't even unlock on October 26 due to a problem they had with the batch of codes), and 17 for the final release of The Crew 2, which includes some PC and Xbox One footage, so not just one system (it would be pointless to count the beta or preview event videos of the game as that wouldn't be fair to compare such coverage with RDR2 since RDR2 had no beta and we were not allowed to capture any footage at the preview event we attended - for which we wrote a full French article).

Added to that, there are also the things you don't know about (unless you check our YT channel once in a while): we have also recorded a 2-hour GSY Offline in French where we share our thoughts about RDR2, I wrote my initial impressions on the game (also in French only), they accompanied our second batch of videos. I'm sorry that we haven't been able to record any English GSY Offline or translate the French article but we just don't have enough time left at the end of the day. Let me remind you that we do this on our own time, davton and CpRBe are at work during the day and I was supposed to be on vacation with my family.

So no, I'm sorry, our coverage of RDR2 has been stellar so far, with much longer 4K videos than we usually post, but while we appreciate your support and interest in our opinion, there is just no way we can find time to complete a 60-hour game to then write a full review, or even record a commented video because we have to keep covering upcoming releases and there are very few of us in the team.

Easy, Easy big fella. I love the job you guys do! This is easily hands down one of my favorite sites and you should know Im only asking because it's quality content.

Your right, there are a lot of vids. But I'm used to seeing impressions, reviews and offline from you guys on these big titles. I miss them do to the fact that there in French and on the youtube channel. Everything you said makes complete sense.

Thanks for your hard work Drift.

PS The Crew's a great game. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I just meant to point out that our coverage of the game was certainly not less important than for other games, especially considering that we could only show some footage after everyone was already playing it. Usually, that makes it a bit pointless to post so many videos. And again, I am truly sorry that we couldn't find the time to record any GSY Offline in English, but there are sadly only 24 hours in a day and davton isn't usually available during the day. I understand your disappointment if for some odd reason (^^) you have come to enjoy our reviews, even though they're usually limited to a verdict in English, but being only at chapter 3, I don't feel comfortable writing one just yet. Now maybe (much) later, when I'm close to completing the game (or even after I do complete the main story), I'll have a bit of time to sump up my thoughts about RDR2, unless we take the opportunity to do it vocally in a livestream dedicated to the Red Dead Online beta in November, but as of today, there isn't much more we can do.
