We're a bit late on this one but here they are anyway, two HQ direct feed videos of Final Fantasy XV, the first one being the Tech Demo while the second walks us through some in-game footage for 10 minutes.
Awesome, but the almost decade long wait for one game is BEYOND ridiculous. But I will be a happy Panda if it's the long awaited return to the glory days of SquareSoft. (SquareEnix)
PS: Don't take my comment as a swipe at the incredibly awesome Final Fantasy XIII games. Lightning Farron is my Goddess forever!
It does look amazing. I don't think Japanese devs are no longer lagging behind western ones on a technical level these days. It's good to see them now having very capable and impressive engines to build games with. I believe this is using 'Luminous' and Konami have their own Fox engine. Now, if only Capcom would step up and produce something, but that's not going to happen with them, is it?
This is the first FF game that's looked interesting to me since 8, which was the last one I played. As an aside, why do Square always base their main male character designs on emo teenage girls? It's somewhat disconcerting.
Is it just me or the game looks not as clear as FHD?
In the 10 min video, the UI text looks sharp, but the gameplay scene just a little blurry and not quite like it's running at 1080p
Guess the final game may not be native 1080p
Wow, that 20s orchestral loop gets TERRIBLY on my nerves after 20s of watching ! >.< It was actually more enjoyable to listen to the japanese commentary and understand shit than to listen to the non-commented audio. But great video quality anyway, thanks GS !
Btw, i noticed some funny glitchy shit i wasn't noticing the first 2 times i watched it. Noticed the the zig-zag driving car in the beginning ? Noticed the piggy-nosed dinosaur stuck on the spot while walking + some other weird shit ???
Honestly this is very impressive for Square Enix, THIS is what I needed to finally get me excited, more broader and less linear in feel and play. Its still early so Im hoping they can add in more variation to the maps like side quests and other secrets because it would be tedious to have nothing to do while having such an open and beautiful world, but I see places(gas station, lake house, warehouse) and monsters coming out at night so here's hoping they keep pushing to make the world more dynamic. The character designs are a bit dated but it comes with the territory I suppose, as long as the rest of the game is enjoyable I don't see it hindering it much.
IQ/Res, AA, flickering and pop-in could use some work, the game still looks a bit early/rough. Otherwise this is the best looking gameplay I have seen. Looks pretty incredible.
I have not posted for a long long time but I had to log in .. I miss this type of final fantasy.. open world.. It's almost enough to make me buy a playstation4 like I used to buy the consoles for only 1-2games back in my youngin days.
The "Tech Demo Vol.1" video was clearly running on a PC, as they show you the tools used to make the video. (one tool of which is Autodesk maya 2015 at 1:03) http://i.picpar.com/G4ib.png
The walk through looks like it was possibly on a console...don't know for sure but i am %100 sure about the Tech demo video.
Well obviously they use Maya, it's pretty much the industry standard at this point :P
Well, as per usual the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so we'll see what it looks like when and if it gets released. Pretty pointless to speculate about a few videos.

Obvious troll is obvious.
Love the way this is coming. I did notice the aliasing issues and pixelation in the distance, hopefully that gets smoothed out in the final production. All in all though I am loving what i'm seeing.
I agree about the music, enjoyed it for the first loop...but, it did wear on me. I expect they'll shuffle it per zone. Also...red soles on his boots???? Was kind of distracting lol. That said, did you see their hair as they were running? Nice movement. Also, liked that after minutes of running you saw the other guys getting fatigued and huffing and puffing. I am VERY excited about this title. Thanks for the UL.

Yes, the last time we saw real suburban/rural villages was in FF9, if I remember correctly.
So many HQ videos.

As White said, the characters always seem to look the same, then again taking that away would take an aspect of it's identity away too i suppose.

That looks terrible to be honest.
