Is it? I think it's a good game but I hardly hear anyone talk about it.

It's definitely not talked about much, but the people who still play it are very passionate about it. I have a friend that plays it regularly and about 2 weeks ago, we spent 2 days discussing For Honor for hours - and I don't even play it, but was thinking of what they could do to attract new players and convince veterans to return.

The current warriors, things we would like to see in the inevitable For Honor 2 - new factions like: Chinese, Egyptians, Persians, Mayans, African, Romans, Monks, possibly separate Samurais from Ninjas, change, remove and/or add new gameplay mechanics, etc.

We even talked about how a Battle Royale mode... - yes, I know, cliché as hell - but in this case if it was done properly, it could work exceptionally well. Just reduce the number of players from 100 to 60 and make team work be more rewarding and fun than doing it solo, the aim would be to make it more like the armies battles of old, like the ones in the Total War/RTS games, the ones we see in many movies and TV shows, etc.

Would be extremely hard to pull off, but if a developer is able to do it, I believe that would really stand out from all the current Battle Royale games/modes and the upcoming ones. Perhaps there already is one, but I can't think of a single Battle Royale game using exclusively melee weapons.

For Honor already has a great combat system built, the foundation is already there and they could add new things to it even if it was just in that mode. Anyway, I can literally talk for hours about For Honor, even though I have no intention of ever playing it again. But to be fair, Ubisoft has supported the game really well, just like they did for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, it's much better and far more polished than when it first launched.

toelessfoot Right. I think programmable shaders were adopted fairly early on consoles (xbox360/ps3) (2 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite @toelessfoot: Well, only recently they have been. I think this is the first gen I've seen where PC's are playing catch up. Not through hardware power, but through development cycles (2 Hours ago)

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot Yeah I think innovations on the console side are taken up more quickly by PC than vice versa because consoles are really lead platform for everything (4 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite At least for most gamers. Similar to when everything went to pci-e (1 Day ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I think we could be seeing a dramatic shift in PC hardware where it'll be essential to own both an SSD and a next gen card with the api's to use them. That also would probably require new motherboards (1 Day ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite If a game is built from the ground up to take advantage of that, though... (1 Day ago)
