This game is weird. I watched this long footage when they released it and the gameplay looks both interesting and boring at the same time. Probably due to a mix of Marvel characters with standard gameplay without any innovations.
Will have to wait to play it for myself and see how the levelling system and upgraded abilities work, but not confident it will be anything spectacular. Which is a shame, since after Batman: Arkham and Insomniac's Spider-Man, super heroes games should be of a much higher quality by now and The Avengers deserve a really great game.

remember the ol' times when you played the licensed games? the majority weren't bad per se, as they were the only way to play the proprety, and there was some fun to be had. but take the IP from the content, and the thing falls apart and all that remains is a vapid disposable skeleton and mostly a waste of time. Is there even a game here trying to compete with its fellow games in the same genera? I don't think so.
This is 10 years too late levels of scripted gameplay. And the way the characters look is super close to the movies, but not quite close enough for anyone to actually care. Why didn’t they just go full comic book instead? Thor is awful looking too. The hair. The stuck on comedy beard. The voice. Wtf? I’m not even remotely excited about this tbh.
this was pretty interesting to watch. the mechanics are good. a lot stuff happening in this video.
the frame rate and face animations though on some of the characters are not that good.
also Thor's face in particular is a bit generic and underwhelming.
I think they could have put more detail and attitude in him.
