As promised by Microsoft, Scalebound gameplay was unveiled at the Xbox briefing. While we hope to share a video soon, in the meantime here are some screenshots. The title is expected to release in late 2016.

the second I saw the baggy jeans and headphones I threw up in my mouth a little. What a stupid looking concept. What was the name of that PS3 dragon game that got really hyped and was a huge flop? because this game reminds me of that game, it just looks like a poorly done concept.

This looked terribad to me. And the framerate was awful. But i kinda expected it wasn't for me. Main character design is hilariously bad too.

Lair? Yeesh.

My main concern is the lack of interaction with the Dragon, but the game is almost 15 months out, so, not worried in the slightest and plenty of time to see gameplay elements especially with IGN First today.

Pumped to the max for this!

Pre-Alpha only means something to games you're excited about I guess, love all the hate and shitposting pre-alpha footage is getting though.

Here's IGN's extended gameplay footage

Usually the sections demo'd on stage have been heavily polished for said demonstration above that of the claimed state of the entire project. And it's why devs generally avoid showing off their games while in a shoddy state. Sales are lost and gained on that first showing. And this was a pretty bad showing. Should have been shown later in the year if not E3 next year....or they should have crunched harder *shrugs*

It's the sad state some people are in because they won't get to play on the machine they worship - it goes both ways too. In any case, it's a great time to be a fan of 3rd person adventure/action games. Rise of the TR, Uncharted 4, Quantum Break, Scalebound. just awesome :D

In a world where people believe Destiny can change from "beta" to launch in 2 months and 15 months to "fix" Scalebound from pre-alpha to launch is super-duper unlikely, this sentiment does not surprise me.

Yes. I was shaking my head at the time as well. But as I said before, you always hold more hope for the titles you're more interested in.

If Scalebound was launching this holiday I would be very concerned though.

Nice colors and sharp dragon detail. but that character design, it's way too close to DmC, to the point that it could possibly be Dante. gameplay seems nice though. Interesting stuff.

Looks pretty cool to me. I would probably be down for this if I had an Xbone. As it is, it gives a good idea what they can achieve with the engine and what Nier 2 should look like.

Just saw IGN's gameplay vid, much better looking and smother than the youtube video i saw earlier. seriously, for a "Pe-alpha" this game has nice beast detail and animations. It's also a pleasant surprise to see UE4's foliage system porting over, every section of grass is super sensitive. UE4 has definitely put an end to static level designs.

nostradamus @MrWhite: fair enough and more power to iy, but sayin' it looks better. end of. and ommiting everything... the images look worse overall, and that is in stills, a blatant lie. (8 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite Not going to lie, the fact that it even looks that good on a mobile processor is amazing in of itself. Now, Sony, where is my PSVR version of that? (10 Hours ago)
