Here we are back at the Gamescom's press room for our last few hours in Cologne before going back to Paris, with a few late videos to put online. Let's start with Vanquish, with the same demo as E3.
I will fill up for Raptor so far considering we both think alike for such games.
Freaking badass game!
This video unfortunetly is too "simple", doesnt show much of the stylish approach of what the character can do, but awesome nontheless.
I love the animation for the suit, you can clearly see small parts of the suit change when you slide, overheat the power source on the back and other things.
Best 3rd person shooter game I have seen so far that makes action fans of NG, Bayonetta...etc. blush :)
October is jampacked with 3rd person action games, and this is definitely one of them, can't wait for it.

I know that this has been said before like a million times, but the Lost Planet-y feel to the camera/movement bothers me, i hope it doesn't feel as sluggish as it looks (especially the turning..)
I dug the style and the crazyness, i only hope that the game FEELS as good as it looks. The overall design both visually and gameplay seems very Japanese...That CAN be a good thing or a bad thing.
Yeah it has that Lost Planet feel to it, I personally didnt have a problem with that game.
IMO the only thing that this can be troublesome is the controls being clunky as Lost Planet, with mixed combination to do a very simple thing is annoying.
Interms of feel of movement, aiming, shooting...the game is from Japan, let alone its from Mikami, he has done this sort of style before so thats easy to put aside and not worry about it.
But as a game, I wonder how the replayvalue is going to be like for a shooter in todays market that has no co-op or multiplayer in any kind.
I can think of 3 things that it can make it more enjoyable.
Time attack, horde mode, bonus stuff like different suit models/colors...etc. just neat stuff you can unlock.
Yeah,controls were not really good in Lost Planet !
Though I liked the feel of the first Game,and on pictures the second one looked good too...until i laid my hands on :(
Anyway...considering were this game here comes from,I just expect greatness :)
The first game had something the second LP didnt...alien planet that was completely frozen with fantastic snow effects, for me that was Lost Planet and what interested me in the first place.
Fighting the aliens as well as surviving the cold weather, just a amazing concept.
The controls werent as complicated as Lost Planet 2 IMO, I wouldnt say it was crazy dumb as some put it, but it wasent easy to get used to it.

bingo, it's what's putting me off atm. if it's anything like the crap fest lost planet, then they can take their "stuck in fast-forward" version, and shove it up their ass

If you put attention to the video there is debris and dust flying everywhere in there making it feel alive,the game I mean its alive not stale and boring looking notto mention the ARS Sam's suit effects like Sath above said its in constant change overheating adjusting and badass stuff like that!!

Only thing I am worried about it lack of some kind of MP. Hopefully there will at least be some kind of Horde/arena mode. If not, I will pass if the campaign isn't 15-20 hrs long...
Looks shitting well amazing but the demo will have to prove that this frantic wackiness actually comes together in a fun way. I have hope in Mikami though as he hardly ever fucks up...
