SAVE THE GODS AND PROVE YOUR HEROISM IN IMMORTALS FENYX RISING™, AVAILABLE DECEMBER 3

Wield the Power of the Gods and Battle Fearsome Mythological Beasts in an Epic Fight for the Ages

SAN FRANCISCO – SEPTEMBER 10 – Today at Ubisoft Forward, the company announced Immortals Fenyx Rising™, formerly known as Gods & Monsters, will be available worldwide on December 3, 2020 for Stadia, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ system, PlayStation®4, Epic Games, the Ubisoft Store, UPLAY+, Ubisoft’s subscription service* and will release on PlayStation®5 upon the launch of the console.**

Developed by the team at Ubisoft Quebec, creators of Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey, Immortals Fenyx Rising is an exciting new IP that takes grand mythological adventure to new heights.*** Players will embody Fenyx, a new winged demigod, on a quest to save the Greek gods and their home from a dark curse. Only by mastering the legendary powers of the gods, overcoming heroic trials and confronting powerful mythological beasts, will Fenyx be able to take on Typhon, the deadliest Titan in Greek mythology.

An exhilarating experience for all heroes at heart, the game features dynamic action gameplay, fast-paced aerial and melee combat and stories inspired by Greek mythology. Players will face off against mythological creatures like the Cyclops, Minotaur and Medusa. With the help of the Sword of Achilles, Bow of Odysseus and Wings of Daidalos, players will launch themselves up into the air to deal with the immensity of these creatures. In addition to combat, players’ logic and strategy will be challenged by world puzzles, from small scale individual puzzles all the way up to the epic Vaults of Tartaros.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is an uplifting and witty take on the open world action adventure genre and is full of rewarding exploration through dynamic traversal. Sprint across open fields, climb enormous mountains, and glide through the skies to discover all the secrets of the seven unique regions inspired by the Greek Gods across the Golden Isle.

In Immortals Fenyx Rising, players will be able to make Fenyx their own with a wide range of customization options available. Progression is varied, centered on the Hall of the Gods where players can upgrade Fenyx’s health, stamina or god-given abilities. In addition to upgrading Fenyx, the weapons, armor, and potions used can also be enhanced by defeating enemies and opening chests throughout the world.

The journey will be as challenging and rewarding as the destination, and players will emerge as the heroes they are meant to become.

The Gold Edition of Immortals Fenyx Rising will include the base game, Season Pass and additional in-game content. All pre-orders will include one bonus quest, A Tale of Fire and Lightening.

Additionally, all Stadia players will get a chance to try Immortals Fenyx Rising with a free playable demo before launch. With just a single click, players will be able to add the demo to their Stadia library and instantly join Fenyx on their quest to save the Greek Gods. The exclusive Stadia demo of Immortals Fenyx Rising will be playable later this year in all regions where Stadia is accessible.

I also preferred the original look. This art style is weird, specially the characters' faces and monsters designs. I feel like Ubisoft has dropped the ball on many of the games they're currently working on. If one takes a look at their release calendar, they're releasing a lot of games in a very short time: 6 games in 5 months.

While I understand they have a lot of studios, this very little time between releases leads to unpolish, just take a look at the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, that game needs more time in development. I know they delayed both this and Watch Dogs: Legion, both of which were supposed to come at the beginning of this year - because of Ghoct Recon: Breakpoint and The Division 2 not selling as expected.

They're also using a lot of the animations from Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, the way the character moves while shooting arrows is the exact same as Kassandra's move set. Horse riding is almost the same, with this being worst and more stiff. This Ubisoft forward was very disappointing because the things they showed were very disappointing.

Breath of the Odyssey.

@Sdarts yup, also AC Valhalla looked quite rough - animations and npc models are worse than previous games. Almost feels like suddenly Ubi has cut big pile of the budget of all their games. One of the reasons obviously is rushing to get these games out for consoles launch.

also gotta say "Immortals Fenyx Rising" sounds generic AF. can easily tell its a corporate decision to use that title.
Gods and Monsters is a much more interesting title

Man, the first game from Ubisoft that doesn't seem a grind-a-collect-athon-Shitfest and trully a refreshing new take.

Could still be shitty, but i eagerly await to be proven that its a not a farcry/AssCreed with face paint.

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot Right. I think programmable shaders were adopted fairly early on consoles (xbox360/ps3) (4 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite @toelessfoot: Well, only recently they have been. I think this is the first gen I've seen where PC's are playing catch up. Not through hardware power, but through development cycles (4 Days ago)

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot Yeah I think innovations on the console side are taken up more quickly by PC than vice versa because consoles are really lead platform for everything (5 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite At least for most gamers. Similar to when everything went to pci-e (6 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I think we could be seeing a dramatic shift in PC hardware where it'll be essential to own both an SSD and a next gen card with the api's to use them. That also would probably require new motherboards (6 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite If a game is built from the ground up to take advantage of that, though... (6 Days ago)
