Bump your chests, here are the ten first minutes of King Kong (Xbox). Those who were expecting the worst can take a breath, the videogame adaptation of Peter Jackson's blockbuster totally kick ass. Sorry, you need to know more ? Right then, I give you more.

Developed by Michel Ancel, creator of Beyond Good & Evil and Rayman, King Kong is a special game. Half FPS, half third person 'swing'n-smash", King Kong is the kind of game that makes your eyes sparkling, from the first image to the very last name of the ending credits. Yep, just that way. I'm not gonna take three pages about it, but the way Ancel designed a living, almost concrete playground is just prodigious. As well as the directing and the graphics really show how the guy and his team totally mastered the technologic and artistic sides of their game.

Sometimes, the game let you control Kong. So, you pass from the skinny Jack, trying to save his life from some big monsters, to the gigantic King Kong, who beat the hell out of two T-Rexs with a hand in the back. The gameplay reversion provides so much fun, it's just a total enjoyment. Controlling Kong as he swings from tree to tree, knocking dinosaurs and big pterodactyls with his huge hairy arms is extremely gratifying and give a lot of satisfaction. Anyway, to end this little critic, let's just say that, more than an great adaptation, King King is simply a great game. And, believe me when I say, that's not half of a compliment.

Wouldn't it be amusing if the 360 version is actually just the xbox disc with an included emulation profile to bump things up to 720p like with Halo2?

The 360 version looks vastly superior than even the PC version. You can download the PC demo and check it out.

I took some pictures of both versions and the big difference is in the lighting:

They are, but in this scene with Naomi Watts talking, there is indeed a lipsync problem.

I'm not impressed. The only thing I like is that the gameplay is unique, in a sense. Like the style of gameplay.

I meant, I like how they incorperated new ideas, but they weren't sufficient enough to keep the game exciting. It seems like playing the game is a lot like choosing your actions through a movie (Peter Jackson), but I don't think that's really good enough, when comparing to other games.

I mean to say, that I don't feel it's polished.

I just played King Kong yesterday on the 360. It's impressive....

But there will be two PC-Versions. One is like the PC-Demo (Xbox1 Graphics with higher Res) the other version will look like the 360 and is called "Gamer"-Edition... but who the hell is not buying the nice lookin Gamer-Edition anyway and why did they make the demo with the normal Version for the PC? Who cares, I'll buying the 360 Version....
