Thanks for this trailer in high quality.

Aside from all the kerfuffle, the quality of the game itself is undeniable. 4A Games gets better and better with each game they release. Eagerly awaiting it.

Not valve, gaming as a all, its the right move, to buy it on epic store is to support shaddy moves against the consumer.

I was actually thinking of buying the game as a physical copy and gift it to my buddy. One of the few franchises worth playing and supporting nowadays, despite the recent controversy.

It's not that Deep Silver choose that platform instead because of Epic's lesser cut from sales. They did it because they most probably signed an exclutivity contract. So Epic must have paid the predicted sale loss from moving from Steam to them or said they will support Deep Silver for longer period of time into the future.

Yes, this is business. A business which hurts customer, because there is no competition here. There is no choice for the customer to buy from. And frankly, Epic Store doesn't try to get good enough to compete with Steam. They force customers as in "oh you wanna play your favorite series sequel? you HAVE TO come to our shitty platform or no deal." kinda attitude.

Wouldn't you rather want to see Epic some innovative things to outsmart Steam? Improve on how to distribute, support customers, make more variaty of sales so that people see to moving there the better choice? This would in turn force Steam to do more to attract customers again.

We gradually lost some sweet things from Steam, most noticeably better sales, flash sales etc. Because they gained enough customers and are well aware that they are pretty much monopol of digital distribution. Epic's behaviour on this matter actually give Steam more confidence at this point, which sucks.

I don't think it's shady. It's just putting the company before the customer in this case, to ensure its continuing financial stability. Niche SP focused games aren't the most profitable out there, especially so in a world where the biggest PC gaming platform takes 30% cut from your game and people use grey area key sellers to get games for cheap, leaving devs empty handed (or in some cases, actually harm them).

If this move ensures that 4A games can bring polished AAA games on PC, without any mtx BS, I'll bite the bullet.

If the issue was niche SP games not performing well I can't imagine making it exclusive to a particular store is going to help. What you described makes sense if the game was available on ALL digital stores. That's how you extend your reach and sell more games. But regardless of the cut each store takes, what the publishers have done here will likely mean it simply sells a lot less on PC and the Deva have already threatened that if that is the case, the potential sequel simply will not be on PC. it's honestly a bit of a weird hill for them to die on.

I imagine the sum Epic offered to the devs was substantial for them to make this move. I hope it pays off. And btw, the devs already said that the Russian dev who made the claim about the future entries not being on PC, didn't reflect the company's stand on the matter. He acted on his own.
