If you are a regular visitor of Gamersyde you know how we like to do a lot of videos of good jRPGs when we get one, so it should come to no surprise that four new videos of White Knight Chronicles are coming. These new ones, still by DjMizuhara of course, show some more advanced levels.
Update: Fourth video is up.

Commented on 2009-01-02 20:41:08The areas are a bit too roomy but this is likely due to the large enemies they must accommodate, not to mention your large White Knight suit-thingy. The combat looks like FFXII and FFXI had a baby, and I like it. There is perhaps a bit too much on screen info, a bit cluttered but its not too overwhelming.
I think I will enjoy the game. Cannot wait to try it out myself.

Commented on 2009-01-02 22:55:09What else I could say? – Well it looks slow paced and the combat it’s still awkward. I mean most of the time is spend with running around waiting for the actual attack to be ready. It’s not as fluently as it was shown in the first gameplay trailer on the E3 but I already abandoned the dream that the combat could reach this quality long ago.
However I like that the equipped armor and weapon seem to have an effect the look of the characters. The Japanese synchronization seems to be alright too, I hope we will be able to choose between English and Japanese voices.

But I know what you mean, as in Xenogears 3 the Mech's do have a lot more HP, but also do a lot more damage to make it all more equal, but still make it look like they're super bad-ass strong.
Commented on 2009-01-03 08:30:05 In reply to labwarriorI very rarely say say this of current gen games, but parts of UI definitely look last gen to me...especially in terms of the treatment of geometry, very blocky
Commented on 2009-01-03 08:37:50 In reply to labwarrioras good as the best so far? probably not. but "its last-gen" is usually a cop-out for ppl who lack a better arguement. the town is pretty empty, but then again, at least got some size to it, versus the tiny 1 intersection "cities" of IU. its not that hard to not be barren when you barely have area to populate.

Commented on 2009-01-03 11:49:22 In reply to labwarriorBut what did people expect from a console that has roughly 3/4X the user-base of the likes of 360 in Japan.
Didn't BDragon sold 100K for such a tiny userbase? Why wouldn
't this be the same case but higher cause it's a system sold to much more people that can buy their trully first exclusive RPG on the system.
If you look at it, is solid number for software, but nothing ground shattering because its almos as equal as the first RPGs sold on the 360 compared to its userbase, and with less impact on Hardware sales.
More is more... but doesn't mean the expectation weren't a bit higher.

You could say that to see/play Metal gear Solid 4, is in fact, the one and same thing.
Jaffe is dead right when He says that Gears of War 2 is his GameOTY, where MGS4 is for him the ExperienceOTY. Fits right In.

Commented on 2009-01-04 08:03:37 In reply to labwarriorHere's a couple labwarrior quotes from the chat going on during the stream:
"'Fable II is 10000 times better than this crappy game"
"Same enemies, same boring areas for a 100 hour game"
and that is just the tip of the iceberg.
The guy really seems to have a problem with WKC even though he hasn't played it.

You think i would buy a PS3 if i knew it would turn out like that ? Well, i do not regret because other better real RPG's will come eventually, but i am angry at how that game turned out, did anyone ask them to make a generic game just to have a MMO there ? They should have just focused on a great SP world and experience, which they didn't
If you had seen the Live feed, it is one of the most tedious, boring and uninspiring experiences i could have ever imagined a game could be, the 29/40 in Famitsu is a gift imo, just because Famitsu always gives great scores to JRPG's
BTW you think i would really sit for days and watch the Live stream, if i was not interested in the game ? Think again, i just wanted to see if it would get any better, but in fact got worst and more generic and repeatitive the more that guy played
You definatly can't blame me that Level 5 tried to make a MMO than a JRPG
