Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

The PC version of Resident Evil 6 was released a couple of weeks ago and we finally found a bit of time to capture a few gameplay videos of the game. We decided to focus on the beginning of Leon's campaign only, so you'll be able to compare it with its console counterpart. The PC port is quite lazy overall but at least the game runs smoothly at 60 frames per second. As for the game itself, it has the same pros and cons than the 360/PS3 version, so it really depends on whether or not you're ready to accept its flaws.

A game that can't match the bricks up doesn't warrant my time. Shoddy?:

You must not play many games then. Bioshock Infinite had that too!

Some texture artist deserves to be shamed on both these games.

A) things get overlooked, B) UV mapping is hard C) at least it's not a fucking seam.
But actually, you're totally right. I hate things like this. But at least it's not a fucking seam or a fucked up UV map. This is just something someone overlooked. At least it's not Skyrim levels of shitty UVs and all that.

Yeah, not matching stuff like that feels like a small oversight compared to some of the stupid ass bullshit you seen in games from time to time. Everything from malplaced seams to the most horrendous stretching imaginable, on static meshes that is. Or just messed up texel ratios. Bugged the crap out of me the other day when i was playing DotA2, earth shaker has tons of resolution in the face (that you barely see when playing) and then his arms look like something out of a freaking PS1 game :P

That aside RE6 is complete and utter shit no matter if they would have aligned the bricks or not. Terrible game is terrible.

This stuff is fascinating, why isn't there a fun YouTube show for graphics nerds?

To be honest, I like RE6.
I've been playing now Leon's and Chris' campaign together with my brother over xbox live. Of course the graphics are not always as good as they could be, but the game is really huge. Also controls are not as good as in other games, but at least you can now move while targeting enemies. ;)
We've been playing it on Professional difficulty and each section takes us about 1.5 to 2 hours. Leon's campaign alone felt like the same size as the previous game...
Also the number of different enemy types is unbelievable and each section has it's own boss fight(s).

I guess they put so much content into this game that it was not possible to polish everything.

But in all we're having a great time... still need to start Jake's & Ada's missions :-D

On the contrary; I have played a lot of games in my time, just that I would have thought in this day and age, this would be a thing of the past.

I love Bioshock Infinite too; right up there with Far Cry 3 for my GOTY. :)
