THQ released "new" images of Saints Row: The Third that have already been seen on GameInformer. Here they are now on Gamersyde, but as some people say, better late than never!
The graphics do look better than the previous games, but i'm glad they stuck with the cartoony style, Saints Row has always been about over the top fun and the cartoony style complements that pretty well.
Great big meh from me on this one. I know they are trying to distinguish their game from GTA by being the opposite (goofy and silly instead of mature and serious), but it looks like they are trying too hard now. I mean, hot girl in plaid and leather fighting the insane clown posse with a purple dildo? HA HA ha? I don't know, I just don't really get it. I personally didn't like the whole friendship aspect of GTA either, but this just looks too damn childish even for me (and I'm pretty immature).
Honestly, what does this have to separate it from SR1 & 2 other than being "wackier than ever"? I was really hoping they would have integrated the destruction from the Red Faction engine (which they own) or at least create a new engine, but instead we get an increase in wackiness and brighter colors. I don't know maybe I'm just getting sick of sequels, but games need more than a new number at the end of the title to get my attention anymore...
