Sony updated the PSN with this promotional video of Soul Calibur IV where we finally get to glimpse the game in motion. Update: Whoops, looks like it's the E3 trailer we had missed a few weeks ago.
is soul calibur just a fighting game...i never played it
yes, bit of a button masher, but can also be played more tactically if you wish, Dreamcast "original" is still the best and most impressive version, i found SC2 meh, didnt get to try SC3, maybe this will be good, have to wait and see

Before anyone complains, the dev team said they've got a lot of work left to do on stuff like backgrounds. And before anyone else calls it a button masher, they're also working on game balance since it will be online.

Well I for one only played Soul Edge I believe its called on PSX, and Mitsurugi looks awesome as ever.

Now its a fighting game, but with weapons, so I gotta get this game. Tekken and DOA are the only other fighting games I have played and own/owned.
I wonder who the secret character on each platform (360 & PS3) will be :D.
Ah well, its a long range release title so I will try not to focus on it until closer dates, same goes with Tekken 6.
PS. Great graphics and combat, but obviously have more to come :D.
; still in my must buy list. Do want! Soul Calibur is the only gaming franchise that I've ever actually one money in for some sort of competition or tournament. I do love it. A bit disappointed in the last one, but this one looks great!
Never liked SC much, to much mashing! (sry, couldn't help myself there). But this looks rather nice however. But i'm really more interested in the SC for wii. What's it called again, legends? The whole concept of SC seems more befitting an action title.

I for one don't like the female character design, especialy, I apologise in advance, the horse asses. These look like they'd crush your bones, if they sit down on your lap.

This is actually one of the biggest advantages SC4's character designs have over DOA's. I hate the flat-assed clones Itagaki insists on using for each iteration.
Hmm, after watching the video, it seems to be running a bit 'clunky', I absolutely loved the DC version, from what I can remember, it ran super smooth. I'm sure it was smoother than this.

I love the DOA girls. Personality, costumes etc. . DOA is some kind of 3D Manga. So I dont care if some girls look like clones. There's enough design to see that each girl is different.

i'm not sure about the lighting. it looks very unnatural. i absolutely love the character models though. i'm definitely getting this game. it will be the first since the dreamcast version. i hope they are using the dreamcast version as a mark to exceed, rather than any of the more recent ones...

They're not and they shouldn't. Both SC2 and SC3 are good games. SC3 has issues (balance), but none that can't be resolved in a way that could still make this the best one yet.
