French member atN reached out to us because he wanted to share a video of Star Citizen's latest alpha code he recorded himself. Since no one in the team owns the game, we are grateful he did.
Melmoth for games not exporting data, you can still use audio as input on the jetseat, but i haven't tried that yet and don't know how well it works. (7 Hours ago)
Melmoth while the jetseat uses telemetry from the games that support exporting it, and has 6-8 zones of vibration/feedback. so you get much more nuansed and adjustable feedback (7 Hours ago)
Melmoth @toelessfoot: I don't have any experience with the buttkicker, but from what i understand it's just using game-audio as input, and is 1 large shaker/motor, so it won't be direction-specific feedback (8 Hours ago)
nostradamus other than peer FOMO, and fuck that to begin with. (btw, when Elden 'GOAT!!1' Ring releases, but the damn console!) (1 Day ago)
nostradamus @MikeManiac61: just mind your buisness working on that backlog and never cabing in than givvin 250$ to a PR Harware Maker (more or less with pack-ins). When you Jump In makes no difference whatsoever (1 Day ago)
docLEXfisti A complete un- and reinstall didn't help. Applied for a refund now... what a shame (1 Day ago)
MikeManiac61 @MrWhite: Tell me about it! That's why i'm in no rush for buy the PS5 or next gen system. Its bad enough some of the games come out buggy as hell that takes a year to patch. (2 Days ago)

Whether or not it's technically the next step, I dunno. There are some some very nice shots, but generally it visually looks kind of dull to me.
On the one hand extremely detailed assets like moon stations, big ships with walkable interior, nice particle effects, PBR, high-res textures etc.
On the other hand a gigantic scale & seamless transition from space to planet without loading screens
Facts: Cloud Imperium Games is the first developer that opens up a new era of immersion and gaming-experience and no other studio comes even remotely close to all the milestones that Chris Roberts and his team have achieved.

Yes of course it is doable on consoles. By the time this game will release we will have Playstation 5 and XBtwo. This is so ambitious that it will never be finished within the next 5 years.

So what is your point?

Also note, Citizen looks much better that when they first announced it so I won't be surprised if it keeps improving. I don't work at the devs so I can't say definitively but I won't be surprised if it does.
Squadron 42 however i'm most interested in. the tech in that game is very advanced.
If you played the current alpha 3.4 build for yourself during the free-flight-event (a few days ago) you would have realised that the animations in SC look rather outstanding especially the procedural walking animations on uneven surfaces.
Some devs at CIG already worked on Crysis 1.
By the way: you can adjust the walking speed by scrolling the mousewheel up or down.

2. Here are some terrain shots, from Star Citizen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcKsvaUaAYk
In comparison Ghost Recon: https://www.flickr.com/photos/135887904@N06/sets/7...
I think the latter looks better, althouh it's 2 years old.
I will say though, it makes for some funny as fuck glitches right now.
Oh, nvm, didn't read the text.
