Independent game studio to unveil stunning space shooter for PC and game consoles at GamesCom 2011 in Cologne, Germany

Guildford, UK - 9th August 2011 - doublesix games, the award-winning independent studio creator of Burn Zombie Burn!, today announces Strike Suit Zero; a unique arcade space shooter in which players will fly a transforming fighter -- known as a "Strike Suit" -- as they battle to save the Earth. Strike Suit Zero will be digitally released on the PC and game consoles in early 2012.

Strike Suit Zero is an action-packed arcade game set in the final hours of a future Earth. The clock is ticking; your planet is about to be destroyed and its only hope is the Strike Suit; an advanced, transforming spacecraft that empowers the player with ludicrous firepower and awesome abilities. Every second is precious; you'll be forced to fight with fury, choose targets on instinct and make snap decisions that will not only affect the outcome of your mission but your path through the game and the ultimate destiny of seven billion lives.

"Strike Suit Zero is inspired by the classic space combat games we all love," said Jim Mummery, Creative Director doublesix games. "But our game goes further – it takes that inspiration, pumps up the pace and injects a massive sense of urgency to excite and challenge the player."

Strike Suit Zero features a dazzling art style, high-speed zero gravity vehicular combat, branching-mission structure, ship designs from renowned Mechanical Design engineer Junji Okubo (Appleseed: Ex Machina, Steel Battalion) and music from award-winning sound designer Paul Ruskay (Homeworld), and will be presented to the press in the Business area at GamesCom 2011 in Cologne, Germany.

Strike Suit Zero is planned for a digital release on PC and game consoles in the first quarter of 2012. More details about the game will be revealed in the months ahead, so keep an eye out and join the conversation about Strike Suit Zero on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube!

Haven't heard of those, but can see a market for AAA open-ended space combat games with depth in mind, to offset the mainstream market of simple genre games.

Elite was the original open ended space trading/ mining/ banditry game and just a reimagining of that would be amazing I miss the space genre which has all but seemingly died for now.

nostradamus massive downgrades coming from the staples achieved w/ the Halo 3 sandbox/physics, with Dice/BField it should never be a trade-off, ony thing they should be trading its engine if it isnt up 3 the job (3 Days ago)

nostradamus Halo keeps being this Sonic title bait & switch "will their next title be able to Look up par with its current gen counterparts"? Never. Even Halo 4 who was pretty good on Campaign suffered from (3 Days ago)

nostradamus tech? I dunno, go get some insight of Activision (the good input, not the misogyny), all they COD devs make evident generation leaps tech-wise. Do they keep being the same core IP? I think so. (3 Days ago)

  • nostradamus

nostradamus so Halo must be thet bottomb of the barrel FPS to keep its identity. Add some negligible subsurface scattering reflections or some other tech only possible now and call it the day copy/pasting the ol (3 Days ago)

nostradamus engines. I mean, If you can have a PS3 Ratchet & Clanck that looks like a vaseline ps3 game, and a PS5 Ratchet&Clack that looks like a goddamn next-gen game, why can't Halo Evolve - Ugly FPS Seal™ (4 Days ago)

nostradamus Halo Infinite sure is one ugly damn game. Pretty obvious nothing is going to massible change if the Ip doesn't die and start from the ground up with another publisher/dev that doesn't retread the ol (4 Days ago)
