The Great Whale Road, the first title from Sunburned Games that mixes turn-based strategy with RPG and interactive historical fiction, will leave Steam Early Access on March 30th and also releases on Windows Store. You can still support the game through the Thunderclap campaign. The story-driven game is set in the 16th century medieval Europe and follows the story of the Danes of Úlfarrsted but also features seasonal events, side quests, resource management and tactical turn-based combat. Seems inspired by the Banner Saga based on the screens. The setting and style seem similar not to mention that it seems to be an SRPG. Haven't played enough of the Banner Saga to know how deep the similarities go.

MrWhite @toelessfoot: Well, only recently they have been. I think this is the first gen I've seen where PC's are playing catch up. Not through hardware power, but through development cycles (4 Days ago)

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot Yeah I think innovations on the console side are taken up more quickly by PC than vice versa because consoles are really lead platform for everything (4 Days ago)

MrWhite At least for most gamers. Similar to when everything went to pci-e (5 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I think we could be seeing a dramatic shift in PC hardware where it'll be essential to own both an SSD and a next gen card with the api's to use them. That also would probably require new motherboards (5 Days ago)

MrWhite If a game is built from the ground up to take advantage of that, though... (5 Days ago)
