Trailer Xbox 360

As far as I'm concerned, Alan Wake was the best game to be released before summer, which is why I feel so frustrated when I see that the US market did not give it a warm welcome. Today, Remedy released their first downloadable episode entitled The Signal and it is entirely free provided you purchased the game. I'm sure those of you who played through Wake's adventure will not wait to get it. As for the others, I strongly advise you to give the full game a try, after all, better late than never.

I think they just released it at a very poor time. More people went after Red Dead Redemption. I feel like I made a mistake going for Red Dead instead of this game, hopefully I can pick it up some time soon.

It's only their(mgs) own ass to blmae, they already knew this was a game to get from a mouth to mouth when there aren't behemots to steal your sales. My only worry is if they are that dumb to set that release date, they probably are clueless to why they should greenlight more from remedy just by comparasion of the massive sales in almost all MGS games, istead of focusing in reasons to not doing more stuff. look at crackdown 2, I wished that game bombed reasonably well because I like full-fledge productions and not tacked-on sequels, but instead of that those guys almost hit the perfect spot on summer to launch a game that reaches the "fun wanting" spot of people, no matter what are the shortcomings.

yeah great game. Stunning looking. Interesting throughout. And great use of licenced songs (cant wait to hear whats on the dlc - no spoilers!).

I think the biggest problem was that microsoft did an unusally piss poor job at marketing the game. Cant speak for the states, but in the UK i didnt see one advert for it. It's all very well doing an excellent live action prequel to the game..but thats pointless if it doesnt get the people that dont go to gaming sites discovering what Alan Wake is.

Since when do we have ads during 10 seconds before you can stream a video? Very dissappointing guys !

It's been like that for quite a while now, thanks for waking up so late.

It only happens once a day if I'm not mistaken (and certainly not every time you want top stream a video) but if you want us to stop, we can. And you know what, we'll also stop the site altogether at the same time by doing so. Unless you're willing to pay for the free content we provide that is.

The site's health is bad enough with just a few ads, but I guess having Gamersyde down for good would mean no such whinning anymore. Silver lining...

bleachedsmiles: probably on Gametrailers with all the others as they get all the exclusive trailers and videos. :p

I'd rather pay than see ads, I'm not ungrateful... You are if you prefer 50 ads above paying a little bit of money yourself.

I used the code on launch day so now it doesn't work. I have to wait for MS to send me a new one. Which will probably take weeks.

Bought the game on release but barely played it. I stopped playing for some reason and have yet to go back to it, not because i disliked it, not at all. Happened with other great games like RDR with me too, for some reason stop playing and do other things. But i reaaaaally have to pick up AW again.

People hate on the simplicity of alan wake's gameplay, but max payne was just as simple if not simpler: Shoot, dive shoot, take pills, dive shoot, reload, slo mo shoot, take pills, dive shoot. Granted it had more gun variety.
How many shooters use the same light mechanics as wake?

Thanks for the trailer, gamersyde!

Alan Wake seemed like a huge missed opportunity to me. Great engine, great environments, great setting, and an interesting premise. Sadly the game quickly ends up being little more than a shooting gallery, and that becomes incredibly repetitive and ultimately tedious.

Had they kept to their original plan, and made a big open world adventure, it could have been incredible, but what we ended up with was a very basic, very linear shooter.

As for The Signal, I spent a few hours or so playing it tonight. Well, you get to shoot more shadow men, lots more shadow men. And that's pretty much it so far.

just like uncharted 2. or killzone 2. or halo 3. or heavy rain.

(forget that disaster of non-game that is heavy rain)

if you know what i mean... some games just get the free pass and others don't.

I don't know why Alan Wake didn't receive a better reception here in the U.S.? Maybe it was the timing of the release, but it was one of my favorites this generation let alone my GOTY.

The game is well executed. Yeah its gets repetive, but personally I loved shooting the shadow man; shocked me now and then pretty badly.

Great atmosphere and tension and story.

Java, how is Heavy Rain repetitive at all? Every scene is completely different from the scene before. Now, a game like Gears of War or Uncharted. Yeah, if you boil it down, you are moving from enclosed area to enclosed area and killing anything within those areas.

So, do they run this website based on what YOU want, or what the average person wants? Because the average person is not going to pay for it. Sooooo either you can pay the sum for ALL of the viewers around here, or you can sit down and be quiet. Kthx.
