GSY Live PC Xbox One

Monday is probably the hardest day of the week, and the fact that Winter has given way to Spring will make little to no difference. That being said, we might have the perfect remedy to lighten up the mood. Starting tomorrow at 8:01 a.m. CET, we will propose the first part of our preview coverage of the final version of Quantum Break. On the menu, a full article with tons of content but that's not all. At 10:15 p.m. you will be able to join us for a new livestream where we will show you the first act of the game (minus the first chapter). Hopefully, all we have prepared for you will be enough to ease the wait until the game ships on April 5. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you tomorrow!

Eurogamer & Stealth updates!

"A mixture of strong post effects (such as film grain and motion blur), plus excellent anti-aliasing work well in hiding much of the stair-stepping we'd expect of a lower resolution game. Added to this, image quality appears sharper and noticeably cleaner in more static scenes, where a pixel count suggests something closer to a 900p presentation. A temporal reconstruction anti-aliasing solution is a strong contender - a technique where information from previously rendered frames is blended with the current one."

I personally don't mind if it's 720p. The game looks so beautiful that im not suprised they had to make some weird optimisations to make it work on xb1. What i want to know is if there are more powers than the 6 we already know about. It would be really lame if they ve showed all of them before release.

according to DF it's 900p with good AA. it was hard for them to spot exposed edges with all of the special effects present too. it's good that they picked good AA instead of just raw 1080p no AA. less shimmering and harder on the eyes to view.

I still got dibs on the PC version but it's good to read them clear things up for the console.

Clarity is nice, but I don't think the 1080p or higher resolution makes games look more realistic. It just highlights how much the game looks like a game. This game and The Order: 1886 show that games can look even better than their 1080p competition by just focusing on the things that matter: textures, lighting, aliasing and polygon count.

actually according to DF it's 720p. BUT (and they added this later) if you remain still the game seemingly shifts to 900p. still not the 1080p they claimed it was, which i think is where the issue is. people assumed it would be less then 1080HD just based on how it looked and previous cases of games running sub native on xbox. where remedy made the mistake is in their technical documentation that said otherwise, which shifted peoples expectations and has ultimately caused this backlash. from day 1 it's had an incredibly soft appearance. it was never going to be 1080p.

what i personally never expected was for it to be 720p in addition to the issues it has with LOD, tearing and framerate drops. i'd expect a locked, rock solid performance at previous gen resolutions.

Framedrops? I guess you mean the frametimes. Because framedrops are hardly visible.
i don't expect ANY framedrops at 720p quite frankly. certainly not this:

"Tearing and frame-rate drops result in judder and reduced controller response here, with this having a knock-on effect to gameplay. Performance suffers just as we take aim at surrounding enemies, and the variable levels of latency and visible stutter make it harder to take accurate shots"

btw. remedy have spoken. it is 720p as was suggested.

I'm glad you guys will play on Hard for Act 2, can't wait. I don't want to see people play this game conservatively like some cover shooter, want someone to have good command of all the powers and play creatively.

And at the same time they say most people won't notice it. In the Gamersyde video's, it is said that the performance is rock solid.
indoors it's supposed to be good, yeah, outdoors not so much. but the point is, it's supposed to be rock solid all the time. it's fucking 720p! lol

After the many reports that it was 1080p/30fps, although never a direct confirmation from Remedy, it's quite a letdown in that regard. I definitely thought 1080p was a given, but nope. Now i haven't seen all the great tech used in the game, because i am waiting for the game to come out...but one thing is quite clear that MS at the time of making the decision what hardware to choose....they fucked up.

Isn't it funny how much discussion there is about the resolution, but nobody seems to know what the resolution actually is. I guess that says something about how we perceive resolution
You mean something like this ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiogSjppLlI

I 99% agree with you but TBH a game like hitman or ratchet and clank looks more sharper. May be it is the filter remedy uses give it clearly away that it is sub HD and has a softer look to it. I am a console gamer but looking at GTA4 PS3, Midnightclub LA it look soft and sub HD comparing to games like GOW3, GOW:A on PS3. I could easily tell which looks sharp and which one looks blurry
