Empire Interactive sent us the preview build of FlatOut Ultimate Carnage, and as a racing game fan I had to play and record it immediately. I don't think a lot of people will complain about the graphics, as you'll all be able to see in these first two videos. For what was supposed to be just a port, it sure looks good!
Two more videos will be uploaded tonight or tomorrow, showing the Destruction Derby mode and a rather strange way to do some High Jumping.
Update: As promised, the two videos are now online.

very nice videos :). quick question hows the driving? i noticed you had abit of trouble keeping the car straight at one point.

yeah i get what you mean. as with the last games it seems to be a little unsure of what it wants to be. a full blown sim or arcade racer. so its just a little of both. i never liked the handling, but this looks a little better. i hope i'm wrong but it just looks like a straight up racer with added stuff on the track. seems burnout is where im going to have to go for my racing fix.

graphics are pretty nice tho.

Looks ok noticed a big bug though the grass glitches inside the car. :0

When drives over the grass you can see it appear to be popping through the car take it thats down to preview build.

Many games have this "feature".

I hope they'll fix it in newer games.

Anyway - the game loox much better than colin. In colin when I hit the band is started floating and bending in the air. When I hit tires on the roadside, the upper row of the tires fell of and revealed the poor texture showing other tires. Plus Colin looks totally uninspiring.

Comparing to Burnout... there never was any competition. It's just another class.

The physics? In what way? Everything seemed to break in far more pieces and there was a lot more stuff as well. The car seemed the same as ever, you upgrade as you go through the career mode.

i dont know how far along this preview build is, or what it actually contains. but does anyone have any sort of info on split screen multiplayer? like can you split screen the destruction derby arenas? and is it 2 player split screen + AI cars?

i think the only thing that could sell this game to me is those split screen options and the crash olympics. the main bulk of the racing looks a bit mediocre.

graphics are good but the soundtrack sucks from what i am hearing in this video. and the levels seem too dark and the racing itself looks boring. the tracks also have a problem, they are short and just go in a circle. not too excited for this one

30fps is more than enough aslong as its solid, where 30fps is noticable, is when its not a steady and locked rate, dipping above and below all over the place, like moto gp 06 for example.
