Sega released this trailer showing the Wii Motion Plus support of Virtua Tennis 2009. Yes finally the Wii seems to be able to do what everyone thought it would do since the first day.
Tennis is all fine and dandy but I think I am much more intrigued by 1:1 control for swordplay as that was the biggest letdown in terms of Wii expectations versus reality. FPS controls are great in games like MP3 and The Conduit but the early promos for the Wii had everyone expecting precise fencing and it just could not do that.

The 1:1 seems pretty cool to be honest, actual movements rather than the usual random flicking we had to do in Wii Sports. Still kinda dubious about whether or not there will be any games actually worth buying... but it's a good start.
Pah, despite having owned a Wii since launch, it's been a constant disappointment for me. The machine had a lot of potential but it was squandered with iffy motion-controls and far, far too many weak games.

VT2009 and the accelerometer add-on have come far too late for me to care anymore (sorry!) so I'm getting the game for the Xbox 360. At least I won't have to worry about missing shots because of dodgy controls. :)
