GSY Preview PS4 Xbox One Switch PC

While we couldn't make it to the game's presentation at Gamescom, Mosaic gave us a second chance in the form of a short preview demo aimed at giving us a sense of what the developers are trying to do with this new story-driven experience. Even though we haven't seen enough to truly tell you what to expect, we wanted to share some gameplay footage from the demo build and give you our thoughts about it.

Impressions

Some will call Mosaic another walking simulator and they probably wouldn't be wrong based on what we saw, but it seems to be a game that has some interesting story to tell. Better yet, it does so in such a stylized way which makes us very curious to see more. Visually, the game reminds us a bit of State of Mind (which we still recommend by the way), but it has its own unique atmosphere and we love what the developers have done to stage the different sequences we've seen. In an overly connected world, social isolation may sound like a paradox, but that's what the main character experiences as a human being. He will then be torn apart between the need to maintain that connection with the virtual world, his phone offering different ways to pass the time, and the desire to see the world as it truly is. The little time we've spent on the demo was so immersive we definitely want to see the full game when it becomes available as it might be something quite special.

What's up?
  • KORNdog

KORNdog I would honestly be surprised if both the next Xbox and ps5 don't just look like simple black plastic boxes. (6 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog I can't imagine Sony coming along 10 years too late and adopting that styling when it's clearly not what is considered good design anymore. (6 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog I just look at Sony's consumer design and it doesn't fit at all. Electronics are about clean lines and boxy shapes. Even in the PC space that fuck ugly vent covered alien ware design has fizzled out. (6 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog @MrWhite: for the same reason they stuck a big metal.faceplate to the PS4 dev kit? I mean. They could have just made that a plastic box too. (6 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite It looks like a big dirty wifi router of some sort. Which makes sense if you think about where gaming is going. Especially if they want to make the PSVR2 wireless. (6 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite Yeah, but as I say, why not just make it a big ugly box, then? Why's it that shape? could be wrong, like. But if its close to the actual thing, I wouldnt be shocked. (6 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog I hope it looks fuck all like it. And thankfully I'm pretty certain it won't look anything like that. Sony don't make consumer stuff that look like that. (6 Hours ago)
