Dragon’s Dogma 2 returns two years after its release under the new title Dark Arisen, just as the first installment did many years ago. With this new update, the game features numerous improvements to the base game as well as new optimizations, along with an entirely new northern region filled with creatures and characters to encounter. The formula hasn’t changed drastically in Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, with very frequent encounters with local monsters. Too frequent, some might say—and they wouldn’t be wrong—as the game still suffers from a fear of empty spaces and silence, two elements that are nonetheless key to video games in order to build up atmosphere and immersion. If this aspect didn’t put you off two years ago, you’re sure to be happy to return to this universe and its gameplay, which—though sometimes a bit messy—is still capable of delivering epic moments. Exploration still plays a central role in the adventure, as does gathering resources and new gear to make progress less perilous.

Switch 2 ports of titles that have already been successful on other platforms have definitely been coming a cool trend lately. The Crew Motorfest is the latest, and it’s coming to the Nintendo console as early as tomorrow. Because we were sent a code today, it gives us a chance to take a quick look around the brand-new island included for free with the first part of the Year 4 content, which launched today. A quick note about this version, which has a frame rate capped at 30 fps—stable when docked, but apparently a bit less so in handheld mode, especially during the day. On the other hand, in this second configuration, the game looks truly stunning—much less blurry than on a 4K TV—and is beautifully showcased on the console’s screen. The only real downside is the lack of analog triggers in a racing game as driving lacks precision, even though it is designed to be very arcadey. That’s no reason to let it spoil your fun when playing exclusively on Switch 2, or if you want to continue your game anywhere in handheld mode when you already own another version of the game (with your Ubisoft account, this is possible—but be careful, because content purchased on one version isn’t available on the other).

To say the least, it looks very promising and we can’t wait to explore the possibilities this game mode has to offer.

After an eight-month temporary exclusive run on the Switch 2, Gear.Club Unlimited 3 is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and both Xbox Series consoles this week. Star Wars Zero Company was very well received by the press and gamers a few weeks ago, and the release of STAR WARS: Galactic Racer next week is set to build on this momentum.
