We rarely evoke PlayStation VR2 games anymore because they don't seem to be promoted that much. Sometimes though, we receive press releases regarding virtual reality games and Max Mustard was one of them. Since Sony never ported Astro Bot: Rescue Mission to their second headset, it's nice to see smaller teams propose fun VR platformers like this one. It took us a while to give some coverage, but check out our gameplay video now it's finally available.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead came out a few days ago and we have been able to play the first hours of the game since its release. It may not be as good as Alien Isolation but somehow we have had some good fun with it so far. We have two videos to share, none of them showing the beginning of the adventure. One is a tense section set at night in which our mic was on so the monsters could spot us even more easily and the second is a story-driven flashback. Please note that the long gameplay video is only available in its YouTube version as the file was too big to be uploaded to our servers.

Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town will be released on October 24 on PC and Nintendo Switch but we've been playing the game for weeks now. Since we're allowed to share preview gameplay from the first three days, we took the liberty to capture the entirety of the first day so you can see what the game is all about. Enjoy!

Considering how busy we have been lately, we failed to propose a recap of the Xbox Partner Preview event, so here it is now. Overall, it was pretty solid and we were happy to see Bloober Team's new game, which is bound to draw attention after the successful launch of Silent Hill 2, or Subnautica 2. The gameplay video of WHUCHANG was also pretty cool, though it seems we're getting maybe a little too many of those games lately.

Megagon Industries are back with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, which is basically Lonely Mountains: Downhill with skis and snow instead of a mountain bike. After trying out the demo, we are truly excited with this new game and we hope it will indeed get a 2024 release. Many other demos are available during this new Steam Next Fest, so if you have recommandations to make, feel free to leave a comment below!

There are sometimes games that stay under our radar for some reason and Nikoderiko: The Magical World is one of them. Yet, when playing it for the first time, it wasn't long before we realized it was actually an excellent tribute to Crash Bandicoot, Donkey Kong Country and all our beloved platformers from the 90s. A lot of emphasis has clearly been put in the game feel and we're happy to report that VEA Games' title is truly a joy to play, alone or with a friend. Even the price tag feels right as $29.99/€29.99 isn't much if you're looking for a fun old school platformer that looks very good.

As crazy as it might sound, the Gamersyde team never really enjoyed GRIS. It was a great looking game with a great soundtrack but for some reason, when we played it through back in 2018, it simply didn't tick for us. As a result, we weren't especially eager to play Neva, which will be available tomorrow on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. We were wrong though, and getting the game early was actually a nice present. We don't really what it is that made us find GRIS boring, maybe it was just bad timing for us, but the five hours it took us to complete Nomada Studio's next game were simply great. We loved the art style, but we also found this second title to feature some quite memorable moments and to convey tangible emotions. Not that their first game didn't for most people, but the pleasure we took in playing made us consider giving GRIS a second chance. We did finish the game at the time, but maybe we were just not in the right mood to appreciate the work of Nomada Studio.

About a year ago, we showed you a video of the Europa demo, which is still available for you to try in case you didn't know. The game is now available and for $14.99/€14.99, you are invited to join a peaceful journey in a world that is actually very reminiscent of the animated movies by Studio Ghibli. The game isn't very long, between 3 to 4 hours if you're not a completionist, but it's still worth it if you enjoy virtual strolls in beautiful environments. Provided you stick to the high preset, the game also runs very smoothly on Steam Deck, at 60 fps for the most part.

Silent Hill 2 is now back from the dead thanks to Bloober Team and despite a few shortcomings, it is actually a pretty solid remake. Like in the old days, we have recorded the first 30 minutes of James Sunderland's adventure in the hellish town of Silent Hill so if you want to immerse yourself into one of the most depressingly memorable psychological horror game, you know what to do.

Until Dawn is back on PlayStation 5 and after playing the prologue and the first chapter, we must say we are pretty disappointed by it from a technical standpoint. The game's lighting effects have been overhauled but it changes the atmospheres of certain scenes and some fans might not like it. We don't really mind to be honest, but we do feel it is a shame to see that this new version does not have a steady framerate, despite running at 30 fps. The implementation of ray tracing might be to blame, if there really is ray tracing in there, but when you consider that the original PS4 version can run at a smooth 60 on PS5 (and is much cheaper), it is a bit of a disappointment. Not that you need 60 fps to enjoy the adventure mind you, but framerate should be perfectly steady. Let's hope the PC port will fix this issue, as we firmly believe that the game is mostly aimed at PC players who have never owned a PlayStation console. Supermassive's first game is the best to us, though we also enjoyed The Quarry, Little Hope and House of Ashes, so if you have never played it, you definitely should. Now which version should you choose clearly depends on where you want to play it.
Note: A real gameplay video will be added as soon as it's encoded but we played the prologue in a French Gamersyde Offline video if you want to see some footage now.
Update: Gameplay video added.
