I agree. I think every TPS should aspire to do right what Gears did. But an SP only TPS campaign needs to differentiate itself. Mass Effect had a ton of RPG elements and non-linearity. Uncharted had puzzles and platforming, before they added solid MP/co-op sections. I just can't see a linear, cinematic shooter being much of a sell with the setting they're taking. Very grounded in realism, dark brown, (as someone said a more muted Resistance).

Need to see more, but so far my first impressions have been accurate.
I love Gears (SP/MP and COOP) and look forward to more, but i agree with you that The Order needs more than just the QTE/Corridor shooter sections weve seen this far.

We've seen like a grand total of 45 seconds of gameplay. Here's hoping its more than just this one corridor over and over for 10 hours. I bet it is.

I realize its an exciting new IP and its a big PS4 exclusive but the overanalyzing of the 30 seconds we've seen is a bit crazy. People need to relax, take it for what it is and wait for more gameplay and information. All we know is it is gorgeous, it has black bars, and its a 3rd person shooter with bad brick textures. Nothing more.

You do know that whats gamers do on forums right? see one image and go wild with speculation see 2 sec gif and speculate even more, see 10sec of footage and lose there minds speculating lol, it happens to every new game on every platform, QB got the same wild speculation from less than 5 secs of gameplay :)

Really love the setting of The Order, was more hoping of an adventure game, but the game still looks very promising.

Man hopefully we all can settle for 1080P and 900P respectively for PS4 and Xbone in all games 30fps or 60fps. These days resolution and fps is a news about gaming. All the damn time same thing every month. Lets just make it standard instead of same BS over and over again.

No we have to wait for the secret sauce and the new SDK to unlock the unleashed potential/stacked die of the Xbox One.

I think docLEXfisti promised that theses false hopes would expire at E3 this year. I think he's probably wrong though.

Think hes trying to say DICE wasn't able to find the tacked die, but Crytek was. You know, cuz DICE is known for being weak w/ their graphics programming.

I think he means that DICE games usually look good but not in that case, so he's giving Crytek extra praise for making a good looking game on weaker hardware.

But what do you expect? MS running around admitting they were forced into a too early release and telling everyone, games will look good at the end of the year but please buy now, because we totally underestimated providing proper API and SDK to our developers?

People just need to accept these facts:

There is no secret sauce.

Exclusives will look good.

3rd party games will run "better".

MS doesn't need press releases every week.

And no one should believe their mental gymnastics in said press releases.

SDK tools don't change hardware.

Poor hardware doesn't mean poor games.

We know why Ryse looks nice. I was just kidding when I said "explain Ryse." It's not that hard to explain :D

How many times have I said this: It will take most developers, including first party developers, years to catch Crytek. And those games still won't be 1080p.

I agree that exclusives games should be able to get more out of a console. But you should understand both console using same manufacture cpu and gpu and PS4 has better performance gpu. cpu is same with little clock speed on XO. So there is no secret sauce. Esram utilization should be more efficient than third party games. But ryse is only impressive other exclusives like titanfall, dead rising,etc not so
