Very surprised that for March it was behind in the US as well. I don't think exclusives can help them much as it will get negated and both parties will have games. Look at Nintendo they got some usual good Nintendo games but still struggling. In fact with TLOU and watch dogs with extra content on PS4. I think they will have advantage in coming months and both parties will have good exclusives.

It needs price drop or free online for a year something really inciting for people. Dropping a kinect will be their last resort. There were some rumors about it. May be many people are just holding on that and for MS to make that announcement. That would be an instant 100-150$ drop with no extra peripheral.

No chance of free online.. price drop has got to be coming at E3. I expect $399 version w/o kinect.

i highly doubt a kinect-less x1. that would be suicide on their part.

Why would it be suicide exactly? Suicide would be to let your competitor w/ the better hardware sell at a $100 price differential for an entire generation. The kinect isn't integral to anything on the XB1.. you can do it all w/ a controller. It should be an optional peripheral, like how Sony did it with theirs, and the console should sell for $399. If you don't think this is happening behind the scenes right now then you're sorely mistaken. Bank on a $399 XB1 at E3.

The worst case scenario is that a kinect-less system is murder: because it might kill kinect.

The Xbox One? The Xbox One would probably do better.

I still think it's a bit early for a Kinect-free SKU though. They've already folded on so many other issues. Its only real purpose (voice commands!) is to prove that they still have some kind of vision, and a backbone.

The real damage is already done.. they prioritized the wrong thing(s). If they mean to outperform the Playstation, undercutting them on price is the only real path to victory. Because on the issue of "added value," it's hard to ignore the fact that you're actually paying more for less.

But we'll see. I hear Halo and DX12 will help close the gap in weeks-or-months ;)

Absolutely agree. If they don't want to take Kinect out then price cutting coupled with must-have exclusives will do the job.

Curious... new info on the next Dragon Age. No mention of Xbox One, but it will be out on PS4.

With this and the Amazing Spider-man absent on Xbox One, is it time for MS to do some damage control or something. I wonder what is up?

I'm still happy with my Xbox One purchase, but not ecstatic, so it will be an interesting E3 this year.
My friends who have PS4's are in the same boat as being happy and content with PS4 it seems, but not ecstatic either with their purchases.
For next gen I'm let down to a certain degree overall, but it is very early in the cycle.

I want to see an Unreal Engine 4 game on the PS4 and Xbox One, and see if they can run the engine effectively.

Once the big next gen games start rolling out you will be plenty happy with your purchase. Perhaps a little bummed you picked the weaker one, but u can always get a ps4 down the line for multiplatform stuff. You still get Halo at the end of this year or early next year.

COD ghosts actually had really good faces too thanks to their tessellation (same for the guns). But faces are such an minor part of their visuals the game as a whole still looked like shit. Unless they've completely changed the engine i don't see how this would be any different.

Edit: also looks like modern warfare...again...no thanks.

That actually looks quite good. Hopefully it's not one of those co-op games you HAVE to play co-op if you want to avoid slipping into a coma playing solo (dead island)

The trailer is on the front page of gamersyde though.

They need to show something soon, the endless tech demo's are doing my head in. I'm not expecting a new unreal though, more likely some free to play version of UT3...love to be wrong on that...could do with something a bit different in the Competitive FPS space.

I just hope they recognize that bots contributed to UT3's demise. And it's a shame. It's a great game.
