I know there is much more, but still, 720p native alone does most of the work to make the images look sharp and crisp, if you have sub Hd that effect wont happen at all. Pretty sure, but not the way it should be for an HD era of gaming.

But since this is the first Halo game that has 720p native since Halo 3 i am super glad since it wont be a blurfest.

The FXAA is really getting er done, and that art and lighting is just superb. But it would all fall apart even with everything that it's doing well, if the models weren't as strong as they are.

The resolution indeed also plays an important role.

Check Cortana waking the Chief at the start of this vid. Man, sure seems exciting :D

From all that I've seen, while there are wide open areas with some seemingly large battles, I also get the feeling like they've opted to tone down the numbers a bit, but made the enemies that are left more capable. I mean, that's a pretty big leap based on what little I've seen, but that's the sense I'm getting. I certainly wouldn't mind if that were the case because the gameplay really does look damn exciting.
