Well it certainly won't work for me this upcoming weekend. I'll be at a wedding on Sunday, and I'll be out of town starting on Wednesday. I'm sure there will be Halo played, but not Sunday.

I'm usually up for playing most evenings(EST). I do alright in Team Slayer, but I'm probably more of a liability in the objective games.

Heh, I actually don't play Lone Wolf either. I stick pretty much to Team Slayer, and I enjoy using teamwork to get kills immensely. It's especially satisfying getting a kill to protect a bud using armour lock or to be saved while using armor lock. Invasion Slayer's alright too, but I find six people on a team is a bit much to expect people to use decent teamwork and not flood the chat channel with too much bullshit.

I've only tried two Big Team Battles in Reach so far, and they were absolute messes riddled with lag. The chaos was too much for me.

Now this is interesting because I personally don't see myself going back to 4v4 Team Slayer match-ups anytime soon. The more intimate setting of 4v4 just seems to be too much of a magnet for the most immature players with some of the worst sportsmanship I've seen. I'm not saying there's no immature behavior on BTB, but there's really almost no time for it. When I first stared playing the Reach multiplayer I had gotten run over by a Ghost in a Big Teams match. Two players from the opposing team descended on my dead character. No big deal, I'd been stomping them mercilessly and all killing sprees eventually come to an end, but BTBs are not the playground for corpse humping and they were clearly not paying attention when three of my team mates came behind them and nailed them immediately. LOL!

I haven't seen too many tea bagging events since in BTB.

I also find that the cRs are MUCH better than 4v4 and the weaker links on the team don't usually drag down the whole experience either. Given the recent connection problems that have plagued most matches, when you lose a couple of players in BTB it's not going to cripple your team's ability to win. Lose a couple of players in 4v4 and the experience becomes terribly lop-sided. And THAT is usually when the worst in some players comes out, causing many players to quit before it becomes too ridiculous. Of course when you see names in the matchmaking lobby like Eat My Come and N*gg* Killer, you get a pretty quick idea of how silly things are about to get.

The joys of Xbox Live :) Would agree though, BTB / Invasion seem to be a little more civilised unless a lot of people quit, then it's horrible. Equally horrible are the changes they've made to Paradiso. Invasion Slayer was markedly less fun last night and I had an equally horrendous experience on Invasion: Boneyard. Perhaps it was just me but it felt more like it did in the beta and I enjoyed those games a lot less than I did before.

I'm not sure what the thinking is behind AR starts on Paradiso and no vehicles.

In brighter news, 6000 cR available from pretty doable challenges today. I expect bitching about 30 assists but it's 2000 cR this time so worth the 10 games or so it's take IMO.

Wow. Tea bagging gets under your skin so badly that you quit the best game types.. now I feel guilty for corpse humping. It's a game dude, lighten up.

I'm not super crazy about the playlist update. I honestly think they need more modes that are restrictive of armor abilities (I can't tell you how much I'm starting to hate jetpacks--they literally ruin several maps for me), and they killed "classic slayer" all together. Not only that, but they removed "pro slayer" from the arena and added motion trackers to some playlists that did not previously have them. There's some good stuff in there too, but that's all pretty terrible.

Wow deft, that's about right. I average about 3-4 assists per game, so yeah it'll take about 10 games for me. I try not to steal or hog kills, but when you see a team mate perform an Armor Lock you KNOW that person is in trouble. The funny thing is that 2 or more people will wait for the Lock to end, and they make for very easy kills standing around like that.

I like that Team Swat has it's own playlist, but taking out Slayer Classic...wtf? Is it a pain in the ass on Bungie's end to allow more playlists that encompass the majority of gametypes? I'm trying to understand why they can't just have separate playlists for Slayer Classic/Pro/Swat/Infection/etc.... Would it really be so bad to let people play the modes they want to play? Seriously, when I hop into Team Slayer, I'm NOT signing up for Snipers on fucking Pinnacle.

I won't intentionally steal a kill from someone who's assassinating someone else, but I'll steal kills any other time. The way I see it is the faster the other team dies, the less time they have to kill us. I don't want to risk that my teammate won't actually get the kill and will instead get killed himself. If me stealing a kill means we both live and our team gets a point, then so be it.

.
No..........I NEVER quit, I stay until the bitter end. And it's only when you're playing by yourself against a team at full strength that you realize just how bad the spawning zones can be. And it's because spawning takes so damn long that allows your opposition an eternity of seconds to set up for the next shot that comes the instant you reappear on the map :P I don't quit, but I don't consider that fun either.

As for corpse humping..................Grift have you ever watched what happens to your team mates after they get tea bagged? lol! They rage out of control and forget the strategy that was working so well for the team. They stop working together and start running around like crazy, getting themselves isolated and caught in these easy kill traps. This happens especially in Reflection and Asylum. I don't know how many times I've seen a teammate raging after a tea bagging and go run right back up to the top level of Reflection only to get nailed and tea bagged AGAIN.

So it isn't just about the opposition, it's also about what it does to your teammates. They completely lose their cool. lol

Bloody hell, I didn't realise Warrant Officer: Grade 3 was 66K cR as opposed to 33K each for Grades 1 and 2. That's 132K cR to get out of WO.

Fortunately, I'm 12K away and today's challenges are easy enough and worth around half so I should be Captain tonight. Talk about hard work.

Also, I spent a good while playing Invasion which I thought was good for assists. My last game last night to get the last 2 was Multi-team oddball on Pinnacle. It was glorious because everybody was actually trying to play Oddball for once in their lives, my randomly assigned partner and I won convincingly and I got 30+ kills and 10+ assists.

Should have gone in there a lot earlier.

As for Invasion / BTB. I can't put my finger on what the playlist update has done but I don't like it. Spartans seemed to get trapped way more easily in phase 1 on Spire and I've not had a fun game on Paradiso the last couple of days at all. This appears to have triggered everybody starting as an Elite to vote for Invasion on Spire and a subsequent increase in quitting which just breaks things even more. I'm sure the match-making bans are effective for habitual quitters but I wonder if it catches those who do it say, every 2-3 games when the lobby vote doesn't go their way or don't fancy the prospects of getting spawn killed on the same map, again.

Via HBO, I've just learned that we now have Halo: Reach's first Mythic conquerer. For those who are wondering, Mythic is the term given to the playing the game SLASO - Solo, Legendary, All Skulls on - plus no deaths and no saves! And someone's beaten the entire campaign SLASO.
