Music gives me a vibe that they stole from the recent Terminator trailer with Nine Inch Nails (The Day The Whole World Went Away) in it. Looks really cool though

Seriously.. Microsoft showing Mass Effect 2 running live on stage would've done so much good for the game. I'm blown away they didn't do so. I'm guessing it may not be entirely ready yet.

Mass Effect 2 Hands On Demo bout to take place on G4!!!!


HOLY CRAP GUYS THIS GAME LOOKS AND RUNS AMAZING!!!

The atmosphereics this time around during actual gameplay are just nuts. I think due to the number of bullets that hit a piece of architecture, some kind of gas or steam started to leak out from it. Great effects :D

You see the entire cityscape as you are in the middle of shootouts. You see the lights on buildings in the far off distance, flying cars etc :D

The performance is flawless guys. I would go as far as to say they spent the majority of their time making the first game simply function and with this game they are making it as fun, as precise and as flashy as they wanted to make it the first time around :D

I suppose if it doesn't show up soon I'll record a video with my blackberry Storm or something and then upload it somewhere.

You see beautiful mushroom cloud type explosions, amazing effects all over, zero performance degradation, sparks and other cool effects from the shields being impacted, the bioware guy concentrating on taking out legs, random things in environment reacting to the action going on around it by showing signs they've been damaged.

The game looks fantastic. Tons more real geometry while in action too.

The last scene we got to see was the most powerful, and impressed upon us just how deadly Shepard's new mission is. The Normandy, Mass Effect's home vessel, was under attack. Shepard ran through the fiery corridors, as the camera cut away to show the craft smoking and flaming (and, eventually, breaking in two). Shepard and his companion made it to the escape pods, but our protagonist had addition priorities. He climbed stairs to an exposed deck. The sound muffled, and we heard his heart beating loudly from the speakers. We watched him approach Joker, still seated in his navigation seat, unwilling to desert the Normandy. Shepard lifted Joker, but the exploding Normandy propelled them into space. This choice had disastrous consequences for Shepard, however: the soundtrack slowed, and we watched him float through space, apparently doomed to be simple space debris. BioWare confirmed that your choices can lead to Shepard's death, which drove the “suicide” part of “suicide mission” home.

I just recorded a 5 minute video on my Storm. Hopefully the quality is serviceable.

Hold on i'll try to get it up somewhere.

Wow that's pretty messed up so you have to choose to survive or abandon joker?

Screw that, I guess sheperd is as good as dead in my game then because I won't be leaving joker to die.

Converting to avi now since it was originally in this quicktime format that I can't even play on pc :P

Thanks, i know they just show a little combat in that demo but still it would be cool to see.

The resolution is 480x352. Some parts tough to see, but I still think you get a gist for how incredible this thing looks.

Be on the lookout for some nice effects starting around 1:42 and then it gets better from there. If the game is running THIS good this early on the 360, then I can't wait to see what this thing is like next year.

Incredible city view around 4:02. It looks far better than this vid shows though and keep in mind, g4 is running in standard def as well :)

Thanks for the effort the shows really dark on my screen?, but i can see how smooth the combat is and the enemy AI looks really good, the animations look much improved also and the effects are very cool, the guy playing was obviously playing the normal shooter way, i on the other hand love to pause and line up my attacks and moves, but its looking real good, hope to see some demo footage getting released soon.

Yea, combat is silky smooth and the effects look great.

Can't wait for when they release some HD gameplay footage.

Man.. what I wouldn't do to have Bioware make a squad based Halo shooter rpg similar to Mass Effect, but I assume they would need to cut down on the amount of talking the chief did to only the most vital parts.

Your welcome, glad to help. In no time flat I expect the big sites to upload much better quality videos of the game in action.

I would probably say the game is even faster than this video shows. The video here is 23.976 fps. I think the default was 30fps and my default settings in the program i used to change it to xvid changed fps to 23.976.

And in case the sound isn't so perfect. Bioware guy says that the game is 30fps+ at all times. It doesn't drop.

Yea delgado I think if Microsoft were to ever suggest such the idea to both Bioware and EA they'd jump at the chance.

Hot damn. With all the improvements, both on a technical and artistic level, the first one almost looks average. Honestly, that's how much better I think ME2 is looking.

It has the potential to be this generation's video game equivalent of Star Wars. It genuinely looks that good.
