Do you know if Sam Hulick and Jack Wall is back to do the soundtrack?

Every video I seen for ME2, the music sounds so awesome, probably even better than the first one!

Vanguard video and the cinematic video has great tracks.

Finally got round to watching the theatrical trailer, got me pumped must say :) awesome, but about 2 minutes later my hype defenses kicked in so not interested again, i find its a good thing to not be bothered about games you love, that way they don't disappoint... well not all the time anyway.

I think they will do the OST, and hopefully officially release it.

Gonna upgrade to a new 360 elite for this bad boy, going on media blackout now as GT had some great off screen vids but some minor spoilers also.

First review in from OXM. The verdict? 9.5/10.

Not a bad start at all. However, the flaw they highlight in the verdict section is that 'the main story is disappointing'. That in itself is a concern, albeit a minor one - although OXM doesn't speak for everybody, so it'll be interesting to see if any other reviews highlight the main story as a weakness.

Maybe the Mass Effect 2 story isn't as epic as what they were expecting, because perhaps the story is more told through the gathering up of this team for that eventual suicide mission and maybe there weren't very much exciting developments in between?

Ultimately, I've never had any reason to doubt Bioware before, so I suppose I certainly won't start now.

That is worrying, the most awesome part about the game is a disappointment? Better not!

From OXM link
+Enveloping Universe filled with interesting characters and revealing side stories
+Outstanding flexible combat in gorgeous environmnets

-Main story is a bit disappointing. Dull element mining and hacking.

I guess "a bit disappointing" sounds better than "disappointing", as blmbox misquoted the mag.

Another quote:
"The main quest is a slow burn that takes too long to pick up steam".

They said the best moments in the game come from the side quests (I didn't see this one coming) and the conversations with your crew which build thrust, loyalty and even affection. Crew's story can be quite good and have a deep emotional factor to them.

i thought that about the first game tho in some ways, aside from the simple fetch quests which are just filler material, the side quests where really well done, self contained little stories. (i'm talking about the actual side quests here, not the shitty planet missions)

either way i'm looking forward to it. theres a pretty packed few months ahead of us. it's verging on at least 2 games a month for me. all exclusive titles i'm going to be buying too.

As long as the characters have depth I don't care for the rest that much. The story in ME 1 wasn't that fancy either, especially in the main missions shortly after you leave the Citadel. What made it compelling from the start were the conversations and the awesome characters that accompanied you (save for *some* racist trailer trash ;)).

Yeah, the characters (and the universe they created) were much more interesting than the story itself in ME1.

I loved the alien race that could not portray emotion through vocal or facial expressions, so they had to state their emotion or 'tone of voice' beginning every sentence. Stroke of genious imo. I hope to see more unique touches like this in ME2!

Edit: The Elcor, that was it. Here's a bit from Wikipedia (they can explain it much better than I can:
Posted by Wikipedia
Elcor are large elephant-like aliens that speak in a slow, monotone fashion. The elcor use pheromones and subtle body movements, rather than tone, to convey meaning and intent when conversing. The elcor found that when they encountered other races, these subtleties were lost on them; because of this, elcor choose to describe their emotions before making any statements.
