Bioware sorta already let the cat out of the bag saying that if you don't upgrade your normandy's guns enough, that will have an effect later.

Oh and this is just fantastic. My Xbox 360 is dead before the release of one of my most anticipated games period, Mass Effect 2, and my brand new copy of Bayonetta is now useless until I get a replacement.

Mine is been acting weird lately--but someting tells me it's the dvd drive (again, WTF?). Sometimes you can hear the reader having major trouble reading when I'm playing a game, Forza 3 lately. The drive goes all quiet, then reads again and the game sort of wakes up (either the sound had gotten stuck, went out, or parts of the track disappeared, etc).

BioWare has revealed its DLC platform for Mass Effect 2, known as The Cerberus Network.

The Cerberus Network is only available to those who buy it new next week, and not if you buy it second-hand.

Simply put: buy it used, and you’re out of luck.

The service will give to you news and daily messages on upcoming DLC releases for the game without paying a single penny.BioWare also revealed two new DLC packs will be coming for free: one at launch and the other soon after it.

DLC pack one will launch with new missions and in-game items, as well as a new party member to Shepard’s crew known as Zaeed.

Pack two will include new in-game vehicle the Hammerhead. This pack also contains new missions and in-game items, plus the Cerberus armour and M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun.

Here is my dilemma. I've been trying to do a second playthrough of Mass Effect 1 to mop up achievements, specifically get the Liara one. I've got Insane and the other allies to do plus a "true" playthrough with a save I can carry over into ME2.

Sounds like a lot of work? I started a while ago and have really struggled to get back into it. Bear in mind, I loved this game the first time round but the combat & inventory and even the dialogue in parts are driving me truly up the wall. In a post-Uncharted 2 world elements of the first game look very stilted indeed.

Now not only is Mass Effect 2 getting rave reviews (justifiably so from what I played) but also there are a lot of perks to getting this day one. This isn't just a shiny gun or some maps, it's characters, vehicles and game features. I guess we should have seen it coming after Dragon Age.

Plan to put this off for a couple of months well and truly out the window. It's going to be an absolute nightmare going back to Mass Effect 1 after the sequel.

Anyone got any tips for powering through Mass Effect one playthroughs?

I think maybe that's a typo. I think if you buy the game new at anytime you will get codes... Not if you buy it used.

Simmilar approach as with Dragon Age, to fight used games sales. At least all DLC here will be free, unlike Dragon Age - Wardens keep.

And damn soundtrack just lured me in. Such good musics, and been avoiding a lot of them. Personally it's looking better than the first one.

I cen bet my ass that at the end of the day most DLC will not be free... Unless EA make some sort of experiment, where they want to have strong "long tail" sales with new players paying $60 bucks for a new copy rather than buying it used at gamestop. Maybe 5M people played ME1 on Live vs 2M of actual sales that they decided to give it a try. Who knows, I sspect at some point premium DLC will start popping up.

Yeah i agree. Was just comparing the launch of the game with DLC to DA, since here looks like it will be free unlike on DA. But i expect after this two DLC packs are out, the rest will be paid. Prove me wrong EA :P
