That was the only movie I ever saw in a theater that I walked out on. I wasn't expecting nor wanting a comedy.

Why? I choose to forget that those 3 prequels exist. If i want a Star Wars fix I episodes 4-6. If I want something more up to day in production technique, I got LoTR.

Anyway, I saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. While I never need to see a pasty white guy totally nude....ever again, it was really funny. I can't pick a favorite scene because the entire movie was just so funny.

Another funny movie was Street Kings. It didn't mean to be funny but it still came off comical. While a decent mind-less movie, it was totally predictable from beginning to end.

I watched No Country For Old Men. Really confused at what was going on. Watched it at 5am while coding...guess thats why.
I just got done watching that, and was stuck to my seat the whole time.

Yeah, the beginning and end don't really sew up (well maybe they do, it's hard to say), but it doesn't matter because the movie itself is just, "wow".

No more coding while movie watching for you!!

Movie was seriously intense. Quite an accomplishment when it uses no music. To many movies rely on music to "scare" the audience. Has anyone seen Funny Games?

Didn't post in a long time. Much BS going on in my life lately.

I saw Forbidden Kingdom (Jet Li - Jackie Chan)....I didn't like it.

Yea.. the trailers haven't really inspired much interest in that one. It's a f'n shame too, because a Jet Li + Jackie Chan kung fu flick should be epic. Damn you Hollywood!

It was garbage. The writing and the acting were awful, and the special effects were overused and downright bad at some points.

I saw Street Kings last night. I enjoyed it enough, but then again, I have a thing for revenge movies which this kind of was. First 10 minutes were the best part of the movie though.

One guy was sleeping, others left before the end, plus at some point during the movie, we had one section of the movie at the top screen that was supposed to be at the bottom, kinda weird (like there was an iframe or something for 15min).

That sucks.
I remember back I was like 7 or 8 years old, my father took me to see Strange Invaders, and like 30 minutes in, the whole movie just shut off.
The theatre was packed and I think almost every single person stood up and started yelling at the top of thier lungs.

Must've scared the crap out of the projector kid, but it still took him 5 minutes to get it started again.

Thinking back on it, I wonder why that movie got so many theatre goers... it must have been the gore.
It was somekind of alien invasion/horror thing. Pretty cool at the time I guess, especially when you are young! Some parts of it I can still see clearly.
(I'm sure if I watched it today I'd think it was crap)

Watched Sweeny Todd yesterday and thought it was fantastic and bloody.
It seems that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp can do no wrong.

Totally awesome film.
This is like the second musical I've actually thought to be a great movie (the other being Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

I don't know if it's my speaker settings or something, but the whispering in that movie and the louder parts of the music should have been normalized better.
Had to crank my system to hear some stuff, and turn it down to notch One for other stuff, else I go deaf.

Anyway, off to watch There Will Be Blood, and I'll probably love it just like almost every other movie I watch... *sigh*.

I watched it at least 10 times. This will be in the classic category one day, mark my words. The songs are just SO good.

Favorite song (pretty woman, and it's awesome acting too) http://youtube.com/watch?v=fOBwH2Or-A8

followed by my friends (love the voice) http://youtube.com/watch?v=GEW9JLzf5KY

and Epiphany http://youtube.com/watch?v=rI1muWt0vho

Helena, By the Sea...so many good songs.

I have to buy this movie

I remember reading and listening to it in high school, it's been about a million years, so I'm not sure if we performed in it our drama department or not. Regardless, it's a fine movie adaptation. Very entertaining.

It's gore too, somewhat, so that's cool. I enjoyed the story, not knowing about the drama piece.

I think there is no truth more certain than the fact that you and I(and the majority of critics) have VASTLY differing opinions on what a good movie is unless you happen to acknowledge the difference between a good good movie(a movie that is competently done and entertaining) and a good bad movie(a movie that is pretty horrible but is still entertaining).

Bought another japanese horror movie called Uzumaki. Strange movie, but still entertaining, just not scary.

I also watched Cloverfield, didn't like it.

The gore seemed a bit excessive imo. I mean, I love some gore, but it seemed a bit comical and out of place
Also the oven scene at the end rules and looked so freaky. There is probably some serious psychological shite going on with Burton to do that to his own irl wife
