Not really.. most Harry Potter fans I know are pretty big fans of the movie adaptations generally. I don't know the deal because I have 1) not seen the new film and 2) have not read the books, but apparently it's missing quite a bit of the core story and spends an awful lot of time on stuff that's not even from the novels.

well, it's not a book, it's a fucking movie.
I don't really care what fans of the book want, they'd probably just screw it up anyay.

Jesus, I just said I didn't like the film much, bad as a film, not in contrast to the book. Obviously a book is much more involving and Harry Potter lived from that. But the first film made the mistake of trying to capture it, just want to know if they have matured the whole concept of their film or not.

No.. I was just talking about the new film specifically.. and noting (in response to Plumb) that most of my friends who have enjoyed the novels also enjoyed the movies, just not the new one.

I've read the book and I loved this movie. It's the best adaptation they've done hands down.

The acting is better than any of the films that have preceded it. It's actually really funny and intense at times (which caught me off guard how well they executed both). It seems as the kids have gotten older and become better actors, the people in charge have gotten better at pulling shit off in bigger ways.

I only had one complaint about the movie, and that is when the big moment that happens at the end goes down, it's not as powerful as it should be. There's a battle that is in the story at this point that makes the scene really strong that they decided to take out. I think if the battle were there it would have been perfect.

I'd say if you haven't read the 6th book though it is pretty perfect, this movie is an amazing film and other summer movies should learn from how well executed it is.
There's nothing you could want more. The acting is great, story is great, funny, scary, parts of the world are executed in great new ways (Quidditch looked amazing), and so on.

Nope.. but I also want to see it. There's another Sci-Fi flick I read about not too long ago that I haven't heard much of.... Cold Souls with Paul Giamatti. I wonder when that's dropping.

August 7th according to apple trailers. That also looks pretty great and I love Paul Giamatti. Sideways is one of my favourite films.

saw terminator salvation (5/10) good movie but i cant help to think so many things were missing from the movie. it lacks suspense, atmosphere. in T1 and T2, u alwaysfelt like u where on the run and running. like nightmare that you dont want to become a rea. the idea of judgement day or glipsed of it is what made it interesting and eerie at the same time.Judgment Day was to the Terminator universe what Revelations is to fundamentalists: that big, frightening end for humanity that we must all live in awareness of. Seeing it unfold kind of takes away the charm.
