Great stuff.

Though I hate the hangun and the SMG, especially the sound of the SMG, hate it.

The rest is awesome!

Can't wait to throw the wingsticks lol

Probably the sound of the Pistol?

That is what I loved about that vid, also how the enemy exploded with that granade and the gore reminded me of Diablo for some reason and how the meat pieces in blood went flying.

This. From this video, it doesn't look like the 60fps is even necessary given the apparent speed of the game-play (ie, doesn't look very fast). Not that I don't welcome the added responsiveness. The reactions to bullets is sweet (love how the keep moving), but I find the rest of the animation to be a bit of a let-down. It's like they put the decent animators on the hit reactions, and the interns on the stuff that really requires a bit of nuance (the talking/interacting animations)...

my type of game...cool environments, good ai, seems like it has decent story....looks very interesting

the only thing I don't like is the awful motion blur

Incredibly dull. But I'm a little shocked, because it looked much better in other videos. After all of that talk of animation, it also looks nearly static in first person.

Granted, Borderlands has awful gunplay, but it's a fantastic game. I thought this was supposed to be more of an action game though. :/

And as much as I love a solid framerate, I'm going to have to agree with this too. When the action picks up (it picks up, right? RIGHT?), it will be more noticeable. Framerate alone shouldn't be selling this to anyone though.

Hopefully you can disable the uglier effects on the PC.

And it's sorta hard to take the sound comments seriously after hearing BF3 pumped through my headphones. It sounds okay.

Yeah this video was pretty boring...

I mentioned in the news thread of this game that it looked slow, still does. Especially in this video. Agreed on the animations other than hit detection looking rough.

Something about the game play feels old compared to the stuff they spun to us in the beginning.

I said it once in a video comment, and I'll say it again: anyone who looks at that and tries to claim it looks boring, static and generally none impressive (the gunplay this, gunplay that...whinge, whinge, groan, whinge, something, something...) is not only talking out of their arse, but should just hang up their pad, mouse or whatever and find something else to do as a past time. Either that, or you've just grown bored of it all. Which is it?

The game has looked very good in other videos--the action has looked very good! I'm not sure what's up with the pacing here, but it's pretty bad. Hopefully this is just a poor video, and not an indication that there's something wrong with the game. I am not quite ready to co-sign the hype. There hasn't been a whole lot to really get me excited about Rage. The most thrilling thing? Seeing if id can really make a blockbuster single player game. They have yet to really ever do it. And really--who could possibly be a champion of action and animation and think that the "gunplay" in this video is anything but horrid? It is strangely static, too. Sure.. enemies are well animated, but first person animations we've been seeing in other games? They're mostly absent. I don't even mind that.. I'd turn off gunbob in most of my games if I could.. but still.
