I'm glad it turned out to be Obito! :D
On the other hand is sort of weird, isn't it? Naruto's birth was not long after Obito was crashed by the rock, he can't have developed so much in that time to come up with that vile plan, break through Anbu's defenses and take control of Nine Tails. If he was like Itachi than maybe, but he was clumsy so would supposedly take a while to improve, sort of like Naruto.

Ahh, allow me to explain that one.

According to the databook (Yes, I know the latest chapters contradict the ages for the less important characters, but it's pretty much dead on for the major characters)

Kakashi became a genin at the age of 5
Obito became a genin at the age of 9, so did Rin.

So, right off the bat, Kakashi was at least 4 years younger than either of his teammates, even though he didn't appear to be. He was the young, cocky genius ninja son of the White Fang, so nothing should surprise us about him. He also became a Chunin at the age of 6. Obito and Rin became a Chunin at the ages of 11.

So, working with the 4 year age difference when they became teammates, while also accounting for whose birthday may arrive first, there was a potential for Kakashi to, at the least, be 3 years younger than Obito, or at the most 5 years younger than Obito. In other words, Obito was supposed to have died at the age of 13 during the Kakashi Gaiden, according to the databook.

In other words, Kakashi could have been anywhere between 8-10 years old during the Kakashi Gaiden, as shocking as that may be. Kakashi advanced up the ranks incredibly fast.

Accounting for the age difference, and the fact that Kakashi is 26-27 years old in part 1 according to the databook, and the Kyuubi attack took place 12-13 years before the events of part one, that would make Kakashi between the ages of 13-14 during the Kyuubi attack. Knowing the potential age differences between Kakashi and Obito, that would make Obito between the ages of 16-19 during the Kyuubi incident, reasonable enough to assume he could have gotten much stronger in a short amount of time. After all, Naruto and Sasuke were 12-13 in part one, they are both around 16 years old right now. If Naruto and Sasuke can become so strong in like 3 years + time, why couldn't Obito with some potential assistance/training from Uchiha Madara?

In conclusion, Obito was always older than Kakashi while they were teammates. Obito could have been 18 years old when he fought the Fourth Hokage for all we know. Because I notice a lot of fan sites claim that Kakashi was 13 years old as a Jonin, but that was never supported by any of the databooks, nor by anything that Kishimoto has ever said in the manga. Even when Kishi introduces the events of the Kakashi Gaiden, he says "more than 10 years ago" He left it wide open.

We know it couldn't be 12-13, because that would place it too close to the Kyuubi incident, which means it had to have been longer. It could have very easily have been 16-18 years. More than 10 years ago is pretty wide open, but we can safely assume it means under 20.

Ronin Warriors was the shit.

Also Sasuke is clearly going to come back and make a self sacrifice to redeem himself and redeem his long lost friendship/love for Naruto.
It's all been building up to it since the very first time they met.

Now it's just a matter of having to get through who knows how many issues before that finally happens and everything concludes.

Then it will cue a flash forward where Naruto is Hokage, and a hint that Sasuke might be alive and living alone like his brother.
He'll look just like his dad, Hinata will be his wife, and they'll have a new Naruto baby.
THE END

Also Kakashi and Gai both have to die at this point basically. They're just excess

Gai is definitely going to die. Kakashi isn't a guarantee to die. Gai will most definitely use the 8th gate in this battle, and he will finally show us just how powerful it truly is.

And, yes, you are 100% correct about it being Hinata and Naruto. Some people are still foolish enough to think it will be Naruto and Sakura (wtf!?). I already suspected this as far back as part one when Naruto and Hinata had that convo before he went to go fight Neji in the chunin exam. There was her saving Naruto from Pain and giving that confession, there was what his mother told him about getting someone like his mother, but not making it someone weird, and finally there was the case in this war where both were able to tell major truths about one another just by looking into the other's eyes.

Now, why was Naruto's mother telling Naruto not to choose someone weird significant? Naruto is already evidence of many of the things his mother told him not to be, or not to do. In part one Naruto told Hinata that he use to think she was some dark weirdo, and then she got all sad as shit about it, but then he turned and told her, "But, I kinda like people like you."

That weird line from his mother regarding the choosing of a girl is a direct hint back at that moment between Naruto and Hinata in part one. According to Kishimoto in a very recent interview, Sasuke and Naruto will most definitely have their big fight, so not sure how that will be handled.

(long post about Obito)
I think Obito and Kakashi were the same age, Konoha were grouping teams of the same age regardless of talent.
I always thought it was 1 or 2 years for some reason, but it was definitely longer than that now that I think about it - Obito was a kid during 3rd shinobi war and a grown up during Naruto's birth, so yeah he did have time to develop. Still, someone had to rescue him in the first place and then guide him - he can't have developed all his super powers on his own. Naruto and Sasuke had multiple teachers and mentors. So I expect another mastermind behind all of this, not Obito.

Keep in mind, Kishi has always been awkward with ages and his displaying of it. For example, remember when Itachi was first showcased as owning the crap out of Orochimaru with that Genjutsu? Itachi was 12-13 at that time! It coincides perfectly with when Orochimaru claimed to have left Akatsuki because stealing Itachis' body was now an impossible dream since Itachi was now stronger than him.

I also think what strengthens my point is that Kakashi points out that he became a Chunin six years younger than Naruto was when he was first entering the Chunin exam. Kakashi said this in part one, the chapter called Kakashi vs Iruka. That means the flashback we saw only a few chapters ago showcased a 6 year old kakashi becoming a Chunin. Databook confirms that Obito first became a Genin at the age of 9, and you MUST be a genin to participate in the Chunin exam. So, taking Kakashi's academy grad age and chunin promotion age into account, Kakashi absolutely has to be younger than his other teammates for the math to work.

Look at Kakashi's incredible growth from the Kakashi Gaiden to the Kyuubi attack flashback. That's what a 13-14 year old Kakashi looks like. The thing we must keep in mind is that there is no set age for when a ninja has to graduate or enter the academy. For example, Naruto entered the academy and failed numerous times, and then finally passed once Sasuke and Sakura entered on their first try. Minato, for example, didn't graduate the academy until he was 12. I sincerely doubt he graduated at the same age as Naruto because he was failing. He simply didn't choose to enter yet, or his parents didn't enter him. Itachi graduated the academy at 7 and became an ANBU Captain at the age of 13. Kakashi was also clearly a young prodigy, and so he entered the academy much younger than most and actually graduated, hence he was grouped with older teammates, teammates that weren't as strong as their younger teammate. They have never necessarily stated that they group based on age. They group based on rank of genin, and when those prospects graduate the academy.

Rock Lee, Neji and Tenten, which are all a year ahead of Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, wouldn't be teammates if one of them had entered the academy earlier or later than the others, or one of the three happened to fail. Itachi was 17-18 in part one, and he was pretty much the same height as Kakashi. Look at Naruto's height now as an example. If as much time passed between the events of the Kakashi Gaiden and the Kyuubi attack as I suspect, then Obito's size is perfectly understandable.

Kishi has this thing that he kinda does, where if a ninja is pretty badass in some way, even if meant to be younger, seems to be tall enough when he wants to show them in a very positive/impressive light. It's a perspective thing that he often does. We should know what this is all about, since a lot of mangas/animes tend to do it. Naruto is very notorious for it, I think. There are times in part one where Naruto, Sasuke etc, look like total shrimps, but then there are times when they just look more grown, If I'm making any sense.

DBZ will always be a classic. Love it :)

Future trunks is a scrub, though. I can tell that gif of Goku is when he beat Frieza's ass, and Frieza was still attempting to challenge him. Goku's looking at him like "Oh no this bitch didn't."

Whoa, DBZ after Namek sucked!? I mean, I know DBZ was insanely badass, and there were things that you saw throughout that arc, finally concluding with Goku's awesome defeat of Frieza, that were just unbelievably cool and memorable, but I don't think I could ever go as far as saying it sucked after that. After all, there is the outrageously badass Cell Saga, when Gohan showcased that unbelievable potential of his with a totally perfected Super Saiyen 2, and I loved how Goku specifically wanted Gohan to take care of things. There's the hyperbolic time chamber training, that is so memorable. And the Majin Buu Saga? Gotenks... Super Vegeeto, Mystic Gohan, Kid Buu, Majin Vegeta, Goku completely toying with Vegeta, not showing him that he had actually achieved Super Saiyen 3 and could've stomped him whenever he pleased, but was kinda trying not to damage Vegeta's pride. So many great moments, man. And I especially loved the Cell Saga for the tie back to the Red Ribbon Army from Dragon Ball. We know DBZ, as awesome as it is, has its flaws, but then it had no need to be more than what it was. It was perfect as it was.

Now, GT, that's a different story entirely. A great deal of the magic was lost by then, but DBZ and Dragon Ball are both the shit. Think about it, these guys all worship the ground that Akira Toriyama walks on. Oda that does One Piece is also a huge Toriyama db and dbz fan, too.

Originally Dragon Ball was meant to finish after the fight against Freeza, after that everything was a convoluted mess made up on the fly. I would say Dragon Ball lost a lot of its charm somewhere along the first Picolo saga, before that the manga was super hilarious, but jokes were becaming sparser and sparser after the second tournament.

At first Dragon Ball was just Dr Slump in a fantasy setting with powerful warriors, I love the first volumes so much, but stopped buying after the volume #13. I have all the volumes of Dr Slump though, I love it, and all my (ex-)girlfriends who laughed at me for having such a collection also loved it lol.

Tobi's transformation story seems to be interesting, I'm really interested to see what happened. He probably witnessed Rin dieing and Kakashi doing nothing about it or something like that.

Yes, indeed, very interesting developments. I can't wait to see where things end up going from here. I get happier and happier each time that I stop and think about how Minato stomped Obito.

Master taught his student that, even with his huge boost in power, he was still no match :)

A lot of people wished to view that beatdown differently when they thought it was Madara. They said, well, Minato really didn't stomp him, he just managed to catch him off guard. Well, now that it's confirmed to be Obito beyond a shadow of a doubt, nobody questions now whether or not Obito was indeed stomped by the Fourth Hokage. I would have felt the same regardless of who it turned out to be, but a lot of doubters are now much more willing to accept just how outclassed Obito was on that night, when you look at what happened in their direct battle. Even with all the power that Obito had acquired, the Fourth Hokage still outclassed him.
