just make him look less like ryu. i mean. does rikimaru from tenchu look anything like ryu? no, of course not. does joe musashi from shinobi look anything like ryu? no, of course not. there are plenty of "looks" ninjas can have, this guy is just ryu 2.0.

did someone checked the tune on the teaser site? lovely... very Metal Gearish those quick high/low notes, jazzy vibe and japanese pan flaute (or wathever it's called) they normally use on MGS trailers.

and i hope that this will not be a crap because all games from From Software were games with 50-80% so they dont have one good game only average games

This is done by the guys from otogi, I trust them, despite their unoriginal looking character.

I sure would like to see Raiko on the new console, or have the old ones added to the BC list.

Why not a new IP that's original? Why a clone?

Otogi was already similar to Ninja Gaiden.

Well, it works both ways, they are similar games.

Roll on TGS, this game will probabaly justify it's existance, I hope.

Uhm, Otogi games weren't similar to NG at all. And we don't know how the gameplay in this game will turn out, since there's no gameplay footage yet.

They were. They were in the same genre and within that genre they were shockingly close.

"It's developed by FROM SOFTWARE." From Software Producer Masanori Takeuchi is on the stage. He's talking about the game, which is "cinematic action" title. The trailer showed a ninja standing on a plane, falling into Tokyo and running down the side of a building. The game is set in Tokyo -- "famous Tokyo landmarks" like Shinjuku Station.

The action scenes and the cut scenes are seemless
Wow, Lost Planet designer Keiji Nakoka is working on this game.

Norihiko Hibino did the music -- who's also done music for MGS 3 and Ryu Ga Gtoku 2. Production I.G. worked on the cutscene animation.

They're showing us helicopters, the ninja jumps off and cuts up demon monsters as he falls down to Tokyo below. He catches onto a buiding with a rope and inside the destroyed building, there are zombie monsters. The ninja cuts them up and then a LARGE OBJECT comes crashing into the building. The game is dated for 2009. The game will be playable at TGS

Apart from the head piece which is classic ninja imagery he looks nothing like Ryu to me. The setting and tone seems very, very similar to Ninja Gaiden 2 though and that's somewhat disappointing when you consider Otogi was this incredible, mysterious asian tale of gods, princesses and life after death. Global market at work again I suppose, I really should just get used to it.

Anyway, with Itagaki leaving and Tecmo being up for grabs it's nice if another IP can fill the action game void. It's not like we're drowning in this type of game on the Xbox platform.

Edit: oh and jesus christ, Otogi played nothing like NG. You're telling me it's the same because they were both action games? Come on.

Never saw Chromehounds/Otogi, did you? Good scores (GTAIV) doesn't make a good game, being acllaimed by its fanbase does.

They're nothing alike. I can go into details as to how they're different, but it's not even worth it. Just because games are in the same genre doesn't make them clones of one another.

this ninja looks nothing like ryu maybe the metallic thing on his head, thats about it.

i would say he was inspired by ryu, if i wanted to say why they look similar. but we don't know that since we are not on the developing team.

if you wanna look for copy cats, look in the FPS genre
